I just became a Republican today

I used to lean Democrat. I voted for Obama in 2008.

After today..what Madigan and Quinn and the Democrats did in Sprinfield..no more. A 66% tax increase DURING A RECESSION. And no talk of cutting spending..

It will be a long time before I vote for a Democrat again. I've had it....

well, Illinois' BROKE. I hate it, but the dems' model has always been tax and spend. the republitards are cut and spend on the rich , while fucking the poor.

The real issue will be how it affects tax returns. If people start owing taxes, then you will see action. Right now, i see it as your per check taxes increase. If people still get a refund, then it may pass.

Of course, some states dont have income taxes, like nevada, and they are falling apart financially as well. But they cant create an income tax, as it'll kill the migration of snow bords who flee states like illinois for the tax haven. I know cops are one big segment of snowbirds, as thier pensions are taxable under illinois income tax laws.

so think about that when you decide to vote R in the next election. I'm more pissed that my higher than your property taxes(i like in chicago, and am subject to chicago and cook county taxes, some of the highest in the nation) is paying fopr an excop to enjoy retirement in vegas while he dosent have to pay taxes on his pension.

Douchebaggery takes on many forms, Democrat and Republican. I myself am a Moderate. This way I can pick and choose the ideas and policies I like, instead of being wrangled into bipartisanism b.s.

I can tell you..speaking with a lot of people the past few days..the way I feel I am not alone.

I know lifelong Democrats who say they are voting GOP next election. Maybe this will pass..but I don't think it will. People remember certain things for a long time..and I think this will be one of them.

I can guarantee the GOP will take the State Legislature in the next election. Book it.

The Grandkids Owe Plenty party is on the fast track to doing away with medicare as we know it since every republicon in the House voted for their new voucher health plan for seniors. Oh yeah insurance companies will be stampeding all over themselves to insure a 75 year old with diabetes and a heart condition for 15K a year! The Dems have their share of DBags but the Republicons moto is I've got mine F YOU! If you're poor and get sick please die quickly.
