MiLB.com (http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/news/top50/y2008/profile.jsp?t=p_top&pid=461829) names Gio Gonzalez 24th best prospect in baseball.

Rotoworld's (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/features/column.aspx?sport=MLB&columnid=2&articleid=29553&pg=1) AZ Fall League wrap up.

Encouraging blurbs from Rotoworld about Egbert and Sweeney. Hopefully Dewon Day finds some control.
Adam Russell sounds pretty average, I had no idea he pitched so mediocre in AA.

I wish the Rays could have got Nick Blackburn from the Twins, but Morlan sounds pretty good too.

Unlike a lot of the crap that is written, these blurbs are pretty accurate IMO. The correct report on Russell from the very beginning was: pretty good FB, questionable secondary stuff, maybe projects as a short reliever. The people who called him a great starting prospect were out of their minds.

They haven't finished the list yet. Expect a couple of Sox players to appear in the Top 10. (sarcasm meter breaks)

Most of the Sox high-ceiling guys are at A-ball (DLS, Carter, Shelby) or in MLB (Fields), and therefore won't appear on this kind of list. Sweeney is really hard to project at this point, though the fellow at rotoworld is optimistic.

Nonetheless, it's a big compliment to Gonzalez. A lot of the know-nothing amateur talent evaluators on the internet would not list him nearly this high.
