2008 TENTATIVE MINOR LEAGUE SCHEDULES

These are starting to slowly appear, just like the MLB schedules.

The bad news is that it looks like the International League has gone to a very unbalanced schedule. In the past, the Knights would play at least 6 games (divided into 2 series) in each of the I.L. cities. Now it's down to 4 games / 1 series for the teams closest to Chicago.

4/7-10 Toledo
7/17-20 Louisville
7/21-24 Indy

Are there any games in columbus?

There probably will be 4 games / 1 series, but the Clippers have a crappy website so I couldn't find their 2008 schedule.

If I had to guess, I'd say it will be right before or right after the Toledo series to minimize travel.

I'll be back in Columbus when the new stadium is finished.

:( No! April is bad timing! I wanted to go to Toledo again. Oh, well. I guess I can always make it to Indy. It is a lot closer, anyway. Are you sure these aren't the home schedules?

I'm not sure of anything until Charlotte releases their final schedule. Right now, I can't find anything for them.

In the meanwhile, I go around checking out the other teams' home schedules to see if Charlotte pops up. For example, here's the Mudhens' tentative 2008 schedule (http://www.mudhens.com/schedule/2008_schedule.pdf) (.pdf). It's pretty complicated, and I've screwed it up before, so don't hold me to it.

I mostly use this process to make cheap advance hotel reservations.

May 3-6: Kannapolis @ Lake County, OH
May 29 - June 1: Kannapolis @ Lexington, KY

June 9-11: Kannapolis @ Charleston, WV
June 24-25: Kannapolis @ Lexington, KY 2

July 17-20: Charlotte @ Louisville, KY
July 21-24: Charlotte @ Indianapolis, IN
July 27-31: Birmingham @ W Tennessee 2

August 28 - September 1: Kannapolis @ Charleston, WV 2

Notes:

- The Sox open the season in Cleveland and then head to Detroit, so you theoretically could see the Sox and the Knights play in 4 different cities (Cle, Det, Tol, and Col) in one short trip.

- SoxInSFWestcoastAbout is May 16-18.

- Multiple Sox affiliates play in the greater Chesapeake Bay area. For example, in the month of June, Charlotte plays in Richmond and Norfolk, VA; and Winston-Salem plays near Washington, DC and in Wilmington, DE. In August, the Sox play in Baltimore, MD; Winston-Salem plays in Frederick, MD; and Charlotte again plays in Richmond and Norfolk.
