Nerd Alert!!! Sim City 4 Thread

I don't do much video gamin' at home but the other day I picked up Sim City 4 at Best Buy for cheap. I played the one on Super Nintendo waaaaay back when I was a little shit. I love this game. Buildin cities. Makin shit happen.


Any thoughts/tips?

I love the original Sim City... I used to play that shit all the time. The new ones are great too.

I like building cities just to destroy them though... great fun. And Sim Copter is great if you wanna fly around in your city and shit.

I have two neighboring cities one being a residential and the other one is the industrial one. I was doing good until growth in the industrial one kind of leveled off. Can't get shit bumpin

Start a War with the next City-State over:

It kills-off your excess population (thereby reducing unemployment and your Welfare bills), and creates demand for all sorts of industrial products (like tanks, planes, bombs, transport, etc).

The richer segments of your Sim-population will get very well off it indeed.
The poorer elements will get killed and maimed, but they don't have enough money for the Sim-Parties to give a rat's ass for them anyway.

Is that option available in the game?

nah, C&C3 hasnt been released yet, this is every command and conquer game that was made the last ten years (all of them). Totally worth the $30.

Nice, im annoyed tho with the issue of online play. Its the same for starcraft, people leech onto the best strat and use it. Im sorry but i dont feel like being south korea and making a shitload of jets

For those not at all interested, I'm now playing as the Holy Roman Empire. After taking Antwerp in my quest to mop up the Danes, I was betrayed by my once loyal allies, the British, who blockaded my port at Bruges. Recent attempts to rally the support of the French so that I may use their lands as a throughway have been futile, for they are pussies.
Meanwhile on my Eastern front, the complete annihilation of the Poles is goin as planned, with Breslau falling to my forces and Thorn soon to follow.
My empire was called upon by the heir of the Hungarian Empire to hasten his ascension to the throne by killing his old man. Wanting nothing more than to trigger a war between our people, I sent my worst assassin, a small dandy of a man by the name of Herrman, to attempt the regicide. He failed miserably and was caught by the Hungarians, who swiftly waged war on my Empire and are now seiging Budapest...
