That used to happen to me all the time when I lived in the dorms. Once, we had a fire alarm go off at 4am when I have a huge fucking exam the next morning at 8. I got absolutely no sleep and was pissed as all hell.

I think they shouldnt allow students to cook in here anymore. They always screw it up.

My dorm is newly renovated, has heat/air conditioning, and used to be a triple, but there weren't enough students to fill the rooms, so now my roommate and I are living in a triple

Oh, and the fire alarm went off twice today

Figures, they are renovating this one next year.

Our fire alarm went off one morning really early last semester.
I almost slept through it, trying to force myself not to realize what it was, cause I was tired as fuck.
After a couple minutes, my roomate wakes me up, I grab a jacket and stumble outside.

Of course, it's drizzling, and pretty fucking cold. So we're out there for a while, fire trucks come, and two police cars come to the intersection by where we're all standing, presumably to block it so cars don't come and get in the way of the fire trucks. So not even 5 minutes later some dumb fuck just speeds right past the police cars, and one of them goes after them.
Laff.

So anyway, we're out there, and it's starting to rain a little harder. The cop who is still there gets out of the car and walks over to us. He says something along the lines of:

"There's a big storm that's gonna hit in the next 5 minutes or so...So if you need me I'll be in my squad car."

Self-centered jackass. We were out there for another good 15 minutes or so, but they finally let us into the building, and we're all fucking soaked.

The alarm has rung probably a 20 times this year, and everytime we just close and lock our doors.

The dorms to this day was the best experience of my college career. I still talk to a lot of people from my floor, and most of those people are my best friends. First semester we drank EVERY DAY, but quickly learned our lesson. Other than that, our doors were always open, most of us were up until 2am if not later, and our doors were still open, it was never boring.

Heh Heh, we tried that, boxer runs, stink bombs, etc., but the bitches on the 3rd floor are bitches and they got one of my friends suspended for harassment!

Needless to say, the pranks have subsided a bit.

No, we didn't do anything stupid, we just had fun.

Well, I did all the stupid stuff. I would walk around the floor in my boxers when I was drunk because "I live here, and it's what I do at home, so I'm doing it here."

I also had a karaoke hour with a couple floormates in the girls bathroom while they were taking a shower. Hey, I was invited. I wasn't IN the shower, but outside.

I had 14 people drinking in my 2 person dorm room. And I lived RIGHT next door to the CA (RA to most, CA at NIU).

How is it the dorms fault?

I would blame Bobby Bowden and Peter Tom Willis. Those two belong in a dusty jail is where they belong.

Why do you say that?

Sleeping through the alarms is impossible. Plus, most of the time there IS actually a fire, unless it's some kind of monthly drill. People setting the microwave on fire, people who don't know how to cook using the kitchens, stupid girls who think they need to straighten their hair (while completely destroying it in the process) leaving their straighteners on, etc.

May not be large fires, but small dorm fires are actually quite common and you may not even realize it when you live there.

Confusion? Let's get with the program here. It's pretty obvious that confusion is just a state of mind brought by lack of understanding. Too not understand is to not be not confused and vice versa. Get me a hat.

P.S. You seem new here, so let me clue in on something. Everything I say and do is right.

Alright, invoke it. Seriously, I want to see it.

It's time you give up on the Peter Warrick scandal. It wasn't even half as bad as some of the UF issues.

Avery Atkins shoots off an AK-47 at his apartment but you probably never even heard of it. FSU and Miami get a terrible wrap from the Florida media since most of the sports journalists are grads from the UF journalism school.

look---I don't care about either school. I think they're both essentially non-entities in my care-itude...I just don't think a Seminoles fan should be pointing fingers at another's program. No program is squeaky clean, but among College football programs, all 3 florida schools have a less than sterling rep, and rightly so

I remember living at Watterson Towers back at ISU and having to go down 28 flights of stairs from the laundry room when I was doing laundry one Sunday night. The cause of the fire alarm going off: some dumbfuck throwing a lit cigarette down the trash chute.

We also had some drunk decide to disconnect a dryer and throw it down the stairwell.

Back at ISU, we had to evacuate our room, because our RA had a universal key for all rooms on our floor and did "checks" of each room before leaving themselves. I once ended up hiding in my closet until the RA checked my room, because I didn't wanna be freezing my ass off in December.
