Just a workday rant here...

Why is it some grown adults feel the need to talk like babies?

I have a girl here who whenever she comes into my office to ask me something, she stands just inside my doorway shuffling her feet like she has to use the washroom, holds her hands behind her back, pulls her shoulders up to her ears, hangs her head down, looks at me with what I think is supposed to be puppydog eyes and gets this 2-yr old voice "Can I ask you a wittle bitty question?"

To which I just replied with an annoyed look "Only if you can ask me like a grownup"

So she laughs like I just made the biggest joke of the year. I don't think she realizes I was perfectly serious. Drives me NUTS. I'm not unapproachable for heaven sakes.

Why do women do this? (and I say women because I've never seen a man do it... yet), but do they think they're being cute? I guess it might work better on a man boss... but it's getting absolutely nowhere with me http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/lol.gif

Sheesh.

Anyone else have any 'baby-talkers' in their lives?

/rant off

It sounds like she's really asking if you could possibly blow up her walls.

It's the least you could do since she insists on being a dumbfuck about it.

The nail has been hit on the head once again by JEANSMAN, and you have to hand it to him. The whole role model thing always gets me. More than ever now we live in an age where video games are aimed at more mature audiences and children's animated movies are laced with double entendres, often of a sexually explicit nature, slipped in to entertain the parents in the theater. Case in point: the new album by Atlanta Rapper YOUNG JEEZY, who glorifies his cocaine-dealing past. I play it everyday, often in the company of my young son, and we discuss the lyrics (which neither of us agrees with) while enjoying the music (which is pleasing to all). The world is changing and if you don't change with it you end up left out in the cold, like ROCKY.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Are you in the right thread?

INR definitely stole that one before.

So what exactly is Snip N' Chip? The "Snip" refers to spaying or neutering
the pet to prevent unwanted litters and provides other health benefits that
will lengthen a pet's life and improve some negative behaviors.

The "Chip" refers to implanting a microchip for permanent identification. A
microchip provides a lifetime form of identification that cannot be altered,
and the procedure is similar to a vaccination. It just takes seconds.

I must say, the random non-sequitur-post-lifted-from-some-random-website post thing is the single most annoying thing about WSI and all its bastard children.

Had to get that off my chest.

Hey, I lifted it from WSI. At least I came clean.

But yeah, you might want to see INR and Chips in your office. :D

It's nothing personal. I just hate feeling like a took a tab of the brown acid as I read through certain threads.
