hey skrip, I just noticed that on post #40 of that thread I was served up with some "****" <--- what the hell was that?

I've tried to determine which words get censored, but the only one I've come up with so far is ******.

I found that to be fairly interesting, since cracker, honkey, chink, spick, wop, kike, cubfan, etc. come through just fine.

Well, obviously, ****** should be censored.

Given my lamentable tendency to become inebriated with the efflorescence of my own polysyllabic orotundity, I'm guessing 'Yes'.

Also "bleeding limey wanker" is not censored.

if that's the word I think it is, it doesn't make sense, so it's probably not the word I was using.

It's almost as if I uttered the name of he who cannot be named....

Also "bleeding limey wanker" is not censored.

I'm guessing that the Mods use the English Libel Laws as their model - accurate comment is allowed.
:D

Last night, I watched Nova's excellent 2-hour program on this case. They requested interviews with everybody on both sides + the judge, and almost everybody complied. The Pandas wanker, OTOH, is still reeling from his Inherit-the-Wind-esque pwning on the witness stand and refused. They also had mediocre actors read key portions of the trial transcript.

The program reveals that some of the "Christians" who oppose the field of biology issued numerous death threats to the plaintiffs and to the W-appointed conservative judge who issued the decision. Their Bible must have different words than mine.

Excellent program for anybody who doesn't understand the nuances of the issue and also doesn't want to wade through these threads.

Wow was I ever wrong about this subject. I saw the same Nova special yesterday and I feel like a complete ass for ever trying to defend these "Intelligent design" folks. You see, I worked in a 4 am bar for 10 years and I was pretty isolated from much of the news. I didn't know the first thing about this case where some bible thumping Protestant antichrists were trying to get creationism taught in science classes.

I still haven't read that book by Michael Behe, and maybe there is something to his research, but I don't believe he should be lumped together with the religious kooks that take the creation story of the bible literally. Behe believes in evolution, he just believes it looks like the hand of a superior intelligence might have had to help it along at certain points. This may be a nifty idea, but it is far too young and untested to be considered a theory, and it it's way too premature of an idea to be introduced into our class rooms. I believe the antichrist Protestants are just trying to exploit Behe's research. He himself claims they're going to be very disappointed when they find out he believes in much of Darwin's theory or evolution.

I was completely shocked at how I was attacked for bringing up a supposed supporter of intelligent design earlier, but now I can see exactly where it was coming from - Intelligent Design fucktards indeed. I humbly ask that you all forgive my previous ignorance of the nasty history these ID folks have behind them.
