Wong is probably the smartest guy on this site

I will agree on the 56 yards

i'm more worried about gates

I am only worried about Rex..

Everything is should be ok

fquaye14ten
09-04-2007, 09:53 AM
we've never been very good against strong tight end play

infinite1
09-04-2007, 10:10 AM
With Hillimeyer getting better each season, I think we should be ok on TE

fquaye14ten
09-04-2007, 10:28 AM
i think we'll be generally ok, but imo antonio gates is the best tight end in the NFL

infinite1
09-04-2007, 10:30 AM
Right...

Can't deny talent.... but I dont see the chargers continually using that weapon

Every team that plays the Bears always trys to establish the run and if that doesn't work I see them trying to expose our secondary not our linebackers

fquaye14ten
09-04-2007, 10:34 AM
right--it's just that gates can stretch the field and i don't like how our secondary matches up with him.

infinite1
09-04-2007, 10:38 AM
Our seconday is probably the worst part of our team except when Rex is on his period..

Should be a fun game to watch

SABRSox

Our secondary is probably stronger than our D-Line.

The worst part of this team this year is Special Teams by far.

Our secondary is probably stronger than our D-Line.

 no way dude. we have one of the best d-lines in the NFL, if not the best...especially with injuries in NE

oops, i can't take a joke :o

What's the deal with Tommie Harris? Without him the Bears will not have much of an answer for power running games.

fquaye14ten
09-04-2007, 11:58 AM
two part answer:

a.) tommie harris is healthy
b.) though tommie harris is essential to our team's success, we are a lot more capable of functioning without him this year, with darwin walker as a huge upgrade over tank and a healthy dusty dvoracek adding depth to our line

infinite1
09-04-2007, 11:59 AM
The D-line is good enough and much better than our secondary... Our special teams is not where they were last year but are still decent

This is the most excited I ever remember being for an upcoming Bears season.

I am excited every year.....Actually I am excited every morning

No, I guess I should have worded that differently. I am always excited for football season to begin, I am just much more anticipatory this season.

If we had Thomas Jones still, I'd feel a lot better. I am not sold on Benson, but let's hope he pans out. Other than him and special teams, I think we're fine. Harris needs to stay healthy. I don't agree with fquaye about the D-line depth. I think he's pivotal this year.

infinite1
09-04-2007, 12:42 PM
I am not sold on benson but I do believe we have enough targets on the offense if he is slacking.. Plus nothing wrong with some screens

fquaye14ten
09-04-2007, 12:43 PM
our D-line was solid at the end of the year even without Harris. Not great but solid.

This year we have Harris back, and though we lost Tank Johnson and Ian Scott, we added Walker, a healthy Dvoracek, and Anthony Adams.

That means that thought we lost 2 pretty decent DTs, we added two veterans who are above average in Walker and Adams, and a prospect who many project to be much better than Johnson. So we have upgrades over Johnson and Scott in Walker and Adams, and we have an added DT in Dvoracek to bolster our depth

Further, we have a 3 way rotation at DE to start the season--this means a lot fresher legs all year.

I'm not saying that having Harris go down is no big deal, what I am saying is we're much much much better equipped this year if that unfortunate situation should emerge.

I really don't see how you can say we don't have excellent d-line depth.

i mean, we have 8 defensive linemen on this roster, 7 of whom would probably be starting on most NFL teams. The eighth is Dvoracek, who has shown tremendous potential and ability.

infinite1
09-04-2007, 12:46 PM
Our D-line will look good, I just will give it 2 more games before we are set

anything can happen in the NFL, but d-line is the unit on this team i am most confident in

Brian Urlacher said that LT being in that commercial was the worst career move he could have made.

Or something like that...

Tommie Harris said Rivers talked a lot of trash while filming that commercial. I think the Bears' D will be very motivated to have a good showing. Whether that's enough remains to be seen. The Bears have trouble against 3-4 Ds.

San Diego is a really good team. This game worries me a bit, but it is one of the toughest, if not THE toughest game all year. Win or lose, I'm looking for solid play.

I actually wouldn't mind if he gets 100+ yards as long as we stop them when it counts

And I actually don't think any of the Bears D took offense to it since it never happened... It's a commercial not real

And I actually don't think any of the Bears D took offense to it since it never happened... It's a commercial not real

Harris has downplayed details of the day in May other than saying, "That commercial has us pretty excited." But his marketing agent, Bill Horn, recalled Monday the ribbing from Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, who hung out with Harris between takes.

"He kept telling Tommie how they were going to put at least 30 [points] on the board against the Bears," Horn said. "I listened to him trash-talking all night. I remember saying to one of the guys there, 'Man, I wish I had a camera rolling on this.' I can't wait for Tommie to get after him."

The depiction of being shredded by Tomlinson bothered some Bears players, and, especially on defense, motivation is fuel. So whatever works. But choosing the Bears and Harris to star opposite Tomlinson, the NFL's premier running back, should be taken as a compliment.

Apparently the Saints don't match up very well against Cover-2s. This is not real impressive so far. Maybe they'll put up some yards here in the last 10 minutes or so.

BWAH! Indy showed some serious flaws in the 1st half, and recovered well enough, but not as much as NO just shut down. Brees looks like dog shit.

Not overly impressed with either team, although it is early in the season, so
