In a move that paves the way for Tadahito Iguchi to drop down in the batting order, manager Ozzie Guillen said Sunday he plans to bat Darin Erstad second against right-handed starters.

Erstad has batted in the second spot most of this spring, and Guillen has been pleased with the Sox's aggressive style, particularly on hit-and-run plays.

I have the feeling Erstad is going to be great for the Sox. I think we see the Darrin of old..

Hey, man, if he can perform the way they say he can, I'm all for it...mostly.

I hope this is only in games in which BA is getting some rest. This team is best served with him as the starting CF.

Yeah, odd how that article fails to mention where BA comes into play. By the sounds of it, it's Erstad in CF against righties (read: most of the time).

Hasn't Ozzie said he wants Anderson to get more regular at-bats instead of benching him? So he's just shipping him of to Charlotte, I guess. I don't know. Ozzie confuses me sometimes...most of the time.

I have a feeling the SOX weren't really expecting Pods to be back in the mix so fast. Erstad made it known he wanted to:
1: Go to a WINNER
2: Go to a team that will let him PLAY regularly

I'm betting the SOX are trying their best now to accomodate him ............

And Terrero and Ozuna against lefties with Anderson in AAA (per Ozzie's previous comments). This will last until the inevitable injury to Podsednik and/or Erstad because Ozzie is playing them too much.

I hope I'm wrong, because it makes zero sense and indicates that Ozzie never will give Anderson a fair shot at PT. But at least he's consistent.
