If we can't sign Joe Crede to a long term deal then what about this trade for him: Joe Crede, Rob Mackowiak, Boone Logan and Sean Tracey to the Angels for Erick Aybar and Chone Figgins. I have put this on a couple different sites and haven't really gotten any replies. I think that would help us a lot in the speed department. And gives us a new leadoff hitter next year (Aybar) if we don't want to resign Pods. If we let Iguchi go after the year to we can put Figgins there. There is endless possibilities. I really like the way this site is set up it is nice to be here. It is only my 2nd post.

I understand where you're going with this, but I like Pods and he's been doing well in ST (despite injury), I don't exactly see us having a problem with speed this year as long as he can be aggressive the way he has been.

Also, welcome to SATC. :)

The garbage pitchers the Sox throw into the deal won't sweeten the pot. This witch's brew will surley fell us all...

Actually I asked that question to some Angels fans at another site and they said they could see that maybe happening. So I don't know why that would be so funny. They get Joe Crede (top 10 offensively, top 2 defensively), Rob Mackowiak (nice 4th outfielder can also play 3rd and 2nd), Boone Logan (nice lefty reliever who is only 22), Sean Tracey (someone the Sox are looking to get rid of and can start and be a reliever). Sox get Chone Figgins (Could be a nice fit to be another utility guy) and Erick Aybar (the Angels middle infield is set for the next 5 years so why not get a Crede for him, they have Howie Kendrick at 2nd, and they have Brandon Wood waiting to play SS after Cabrera). So yeah I don't see a problem with that trade.

The problem is that it sucks.

Why? You still haven't said why. Is it because you have no idea so you just say that is sucks?

I don't know too much about Erick Aybar and Chone Figgins but it seems like we are offering alot for those 2 guys. However I would never say a trade for Crede is a good idea. He is my current favorite player. I want Crede here for a long time.

Hey I agree I want Crede to retire a member of the WS, but that damn agent of his just pisses me off. I don't really think we are giving up a lot to get them Tracey will never be anything. Logan may be good but we have some good left handers waiting in the minors to.

Who replaces Figgins in center for the Angels? The Angels would want a CF in return or at least a speedy outfielder. Crede-Anderson for Figgins-Admiral Ackbar would make more sense for them but they still don't replace the lost speed of Figgins. With the aggression that the Angels churn the basepaths, they aren't about to get rid of their top horse.

They have Gary Matthews Jr. don't you pay attention to baseball. It has only been one of the bigger stories lately. Come on man keep up.

I think the trade works out fine for both teams.

I only pay attention to baseball if the Gods will it. And right now they are willing that Matthews is one of the worst signings off the off-season and is going to become a PR problem. But when he ascends to the 7th House, then truly the Angels will be a team of the Heavens. Try not to get left in the dust of a raging comet trail.

Did you join here just to talk about this fantasy Angels trade?

Sager - an interesting trade, but my problem is trading Crede at any cost. So what if we can't sign him - he's the best 3rd baseman in the league. Let's keep as long as he's signed for, and then if he walks, he walks. Why screw ourselves if we can't sign him?

And I like Figgins, but he's not enough for me to do the deal.

I don't agree we have Josh Fields waiting in the wings. I think if he played a full season in the big leagues, he could hit .280-.300 avg, .340 obp, 25-30 hr, 75-90 rbi. He has also showed that he can play the field. I am excited to see him be a part of this team.
