Batman Filming at Adams/Dearborn

Just got back from lunch (not Chicken Planet), and saw a whole movie crew setting up outside of the Berghoff on Adams. I asked one of the guys working, he said they were shooting a scene inside the Berghoff with Christian Bale. cool.
This guy also said not to tell TDG. So, Shhhhh.

Yeah, they've been shooting all over the downtown area for months, just like the last one.

Also, Angelina Jolie is in town shooting a movie, apparently causing an influx of teh d34dly foreign (aka non-Chicagoan) photographers. I guess it still beats the heck of of trying to hang in LA.

BTW, I came to Chicago last week to get away from film crews. What happens, walk right into a guy I know working on that Angelina Jolie movie up in Lakeview. Sigh...

There's another crew setting up at Lake & LaSalle right now.

Film crews actually are a pretty common sight in this area. It's got 3 of the top reasons to film in Chicago: bridges, el, and interesting-looking buildings.

Heck, we have / had many of the most famous black / formerly black people on the planet.

I forgot to mention that Batman trailers and props (e.g., a Gotham City SWAT truck) are stored at the vacant lot on Franklin & Washington and also in the old Post Office building on Congress.

^^^ I filmed a chase scene in that truck a few weeks ago. I wasnt very fun though because it was hotter than hell and we were all in full SWAT getup.

I went past the Lake set on my way home from work. They were filming a night sequence centered around Wabash (where the el turns south) and extending all the way to Michigan Ave.
