How much of this has to do with his being called to testify in front of the Senate??

As President Bush's chief strategist and advisor, Rove has been a major target for liberals, some of whom describe him as "Bush's brain." Most recently, he's been the target of various Democrat subpoenas, and many believe he was the desired target of Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald in the Valerie Plame case.

I'm actually going to be more interested in how the press acts now. I always got the feeling that Rove was the 'bully' when it came to the media.

I don't think this makes the administration any weaker, especially because he is going out on his own terms.

The administration is weird. It has almost record low levels of public support, yet it gets pretty much what it wants from Congress. Go figure.

It is going to be fun to see how historians look at this administration 20-30 years from now.

I highly doubt that this removes Rove's influence from White House matters. Isn't he going to work for Republican candidates now?

That's where his gay, fat self really shines

Good point. Question is, do either Giuliani, Freddy, or the Mittster want him? It's not like he's a real popular guy and you can't hide him behind the scenes.

He would probably do a lot of good for Romneybot by getting the evangelicals to accept that he may not follow the same text, but believes the same stuff.

I'll bet he works for Fred though since Fred's not particularly bright and seems to be of the mind that continuing Bush's policies on all fronts is just what we need.

^ I can buy that he would work for Fred.

This is a great example of an individual who puts party in front of everything. Again though, since he will never be an elected position he doesn't have to answer to an electorate.

Mark Hanna and Lee Atwater must be proud of Karl.

I doubt he will work for a specific candidate, given his current political baggage. However, look for Rove to lead a PAC or special interest group with some connection to the 2008 election. They all want him... but at a distance.

If I'd created this thread, the title would've been "Bush Loses His Brain" :D .
