I think it was trousers. I one time saw SoxEd use the word 'pants.' He said it in a negative way. I think trousers is good, and pants are bad.

If SoxEd isn't going to be here for this stuff, he should at least provide a stand-in Brit.

'twas indeed the word "trousers" (our name for what you call "pants").

In my opinion, he did not mean it to make sense at all, he was merely trying to illustrate the insane futility of trying to sum up a band in one word.

He might as well have said "sunglasses".

Of course, alongside my opinion, we must consider the existence of the phrase "all mouth and trousers" - which is used to describe someone who is a flash git of no substance.

It is sometimes rendered "all mouth and no trousers" - so it it is not inconceivable that young master Doherty did, indeed, mean for us to take his use of the word "trousers" as a superlative....

:D

What?
Are you quite insane?

Don't you know that there are only three Interweb tubes in all of England?

And anyway, most of my countrymen are too addled with BSE/CJD/Foot & Mouth to be able to type coherently.

The cost of providing a stand-in would be positively ruinous, what....

In 1997 he'd be 17 or 18.

Or in other words, nobbut a wee pup.

I'm not going to let a Hoderty or Cub stand in the way of my big van.

Pete Doherty means about as much in my universe as Peabo Bryson.

I honestly have no clue who those people are

He's one of those people who are really big tabloid stars in England but nobody gives a crap about here. Kind of like Beckham.

Aw c'mon - be fair:

Beckham can't even be relied upon for one smack-addled rant per year - let alone a raging addiction to Crack AND Heroin.

Throw in a basehead supermodel for a g/f, and Doherty's Tabloid Gold.

[Just to clarify, I frikkin' hate our Murdoched Media.]
