Thank goodness.
Then there was this whole mess, which I missed:
Arburua explained further how the Dominican legal process allows "supposed accusers to appear in court and make accusations over and over through their counsel or on their own." Antonio Gonzalez, a Dominican farmer, is the accuser in this instance, with Uribe and his brother, Elpidio, being the target of what Uribe explained Friday was a basic case of blackmail. In fact, Uribe said he received letters via messenger asking for payoffs ranging from 30 million Dominican pesos ($932,624) at the start to 300,000 pesos ($9,326).
Hope his head is clear now.

Yikes.
I agree, I hope he can concentrate on the baseball season. It actually seems like it would do him some good anyway. Perhaps this shit he went through will fuel him into playing with some fire under his ass. Maybe.

I agree, I hope he's got his head clear and ready to play in the upcoming season.
I also hope he can become a more consistent player. When he's hot, he's like Babe Freaking Ruth, but when he's ice cold at the plate, it's like the 2nd coming of Jose Valentin. HR or bust.
My only complaint with Juan on defense is that he sometimes strays TOO FAR in to the OF on pop flys. He gets too aggressive and I fear one day he's going to collide with either Anderson or Pods and injure them badly the way it went down with Ozzie Guillen and Tim Raines in 1992.
I can't fault the guy for playing aggressively and giving it all he's got. But there were some plays last year I thought he was going to kill Pods or Anderson by not allowing himself to be called off the ball by the OF coming in on the play.
But I can't complain too badly. Without Juan's excellent defense and aggressive play.....the Sox don't win the World Series in '05. He made some outstanding plays on D down the stretch and in the world series.

The article did say he showed up pretty trim, which is good, because as we all know, he kinda plumped up last year.
And you can't have an OBP of .256 two years in a row, right? Right? Please?

He and Jenks both slimmed down a little bit. Both really needed it to be honest.
I'm backing Uribe all the way. He's gonna bounce back and prove everyone rawng.
Good to hear. I am also a fan of Uribe. I think when he is in shape he is one helluva SS and he has a good enough bat to anchor the bottom of the line up.
