What's new in the world of wrestling.
Khali is the champ, what a crock of shit. Seriously, McMahon's boner for big men is unreal. And I don't watch Smackdown, but I bet you 10 bucks he's going to feud with Batista, who I also don't care for.
McMahon is coming back on TV on monday. I'll have to check that out. I wonder if he mentions the car blowing up or if they totally aborted that storyline all together?
Triple H is going to be on TV again soon. I know he's bangin the bosses daughter and he's a booker, but he's a hell of a talent. You don't really appreciate HHH until he's gone.
Looks like Cena is finally going to lose his title at Summerslam to Orton. All I gotta say is it's about time. Cena's been getting booed in the knowledgable wrestling cities for months now. (Chicago, any place in Canada, New York, and Georgia) He needs to turn heel and move on. This new Orton gimmick I think is awesome. The silent assasin, if you will.
Discuss.

Khali was pretty much the alternative cuz they needed a heel to hold the tittle
He is feuding with Batista and well 2 big guys that cant put on a show is just horrible
I dont really watch Smackdown either but I read about it online
Cena is due to lose the tittle. The thought process is they will produce new shirts and gear to sell as he gets into the hunt for the tittle. HHH will return at Sumerslam for a small feud with King Bookah. Then evetually feud with Orton for Wrestlemania
Oh and about the car explosion that was done and over with when the Benoit thing happened

khali is like andre the giant and the concept of him as gone from disgust to acceptance
SoxFan76
08-03-2007, 02:45 PM
Well the thing about Andre is (and this is all from waht I've read obviously), but Andre was a fantastic worker in the 70s and 80s. In his later WWF years, he was just a time bomb waiting to explode.
Khali is champ because they need a heel...that just means Smackdown needs more heels. They all went to Raw. Kennedy and Booker, for example.

no, smackdown needs wrestlers period
everyone is dropping off to injuries now and they are running out of established talent to throw in there
it has no meaning who went where because they always run wrestlers between the shows

What is your idea of the future of wrestling namely WWE?
Do you see them going for less "big" guys and to more wrestling?
I like the future with orton-but cena is the "New Game".
Speaking of HHH will be back soon.
First he will beat booker t- then beat or chase new champ' Randy orton"
Cena will do fine as a challenger chasing orton also.
HHH will win the belt at wrestlemania next year, I think!!!
Who here has meet any wrestlers?
I used to part in the 80's n 90's with the WCW n WWF stars, but that was way back when.

On the contrary, I imagine that they're gonna stick to the soap opera BS and 'roided out freaks who suck at wrestling.

I met Hogan at the height of his popularity. The WWF had a show in Minnesota, and we were staying / eating b'fast in the same hotel. Helluva nice guy. Macho Man also was in attendance.
I also met Honey Bee. Anybody remember this obscure broad?

Undertaker is supposedly making his return at Unforgiven, which I'm looking forward to. I would have liked to see his title run last longer than it did.
I'm also looking forward to the return of Triple H. Hopefully he makes an appearance before Summerslam.
Cena sucks and Khali is just as bad. Khali has no mic talent and his work in the ring is way too sloppy.

The worst thing that ever happened to the WWF/WWE was the WCW going under. Now they have too many wrestlers (see: the draft :jagoff:) and no competition, so now they really have no incentive to be cutting edge or inventive with the stories. Or really, no incentive to actually get a good wrestler the belt.
infinite1
08-06-2007, 09:16 AM
Competition see TNA.. Not a bad product just the announcers and some of the storylines suck.. The action and or performance is slightly better than that of the WWE I just cant hold my self to see it on a weekly basis. Also the only way WWE will put a belt on someone is if they are a good heel or if you can sell a ton of merchandise ala Cena.

Mcmahon hated ECW because it was not his idea, and it HAD a ton of fans.
Same with WCW, he hated it, and bought both out so he could destroy them.

ECW was just a bunch of daredevils using all kinds of props.. ROH is great, but like anything else you have to come from somewhere and ROH is a great training organization. No, ECW was smart
It was the first company not to insult the fans with crappy fantasy gimmicks or storylines. It was realistic, hence why WWF became realistic with its "attitude" era because it got stolen from ecw. A person who never watched ecw you apparently are because some of the greatest matches of all time have nothing to do with high flying, look at malenko vs guererro
Also, ecw was infamous for their promo's, they had the best interviews ever and it built up so many guys into having great mic skills
the ecw work ethic blew away anything anyone else ever had

So if it was garbage, care to explain why wwf(as well as wcw) raided the ecw roster and why after ecw started to get national attention, wwe started to use stuff like ladder matches and hardcore matches, etc etc? You just proved yourself wrong being the mark you are and yet in the same breath saying the thing wwe idolized and modeled itself into was garbage
Rabid_Llama8

Excuse me, WWE started the ladder match in 92 (Wrestlemania 10, HBK V Razor Ramon anyone?). Granted the hardcore division ripped off ECW and all, I don't really think the 2 were comparable. ECW was great wrestling and WWE was gimmicks.
infinite1
08-09-2007, 12:13 PM
I think great wrestling is in the training divisons or smaller organizations. ECW was entertaing to a certain extent just not worth my time. WWE and WCW raided their rosters because they could take the name of their small name stars and use it to go against each other. I don't think WWE nor WCW were really worried about a wrestling organization based out of a bingo hall

Will eventually feud with HHH, and make Kennedy #1 heel in the WWF.
SoxFan76
08-13-2007, 08:18 AM
I thought McMahon was bringing in an illegitimate daughter, not son. I've been out of the loop for a week though, so I'll take your word over mine.
I'm glad Vince mentioned the car blowing up. I read the results from last week last night. I would of been pissed if he just completely ignored what happened a few weeks prior.
ECW was ground breaking, but it was nothing but a bunch of dare devils banking on shock value. The production was horrendous, the venues were horrible, and the wrestlers were horrible outside of guys like Awesome and Scorpio. They had a few great talents like Sandman and Foley, but they also had your standard bump-freaks like RVD who suck at wrestling and have no personality. People claim they had so many fans, yet they couldn't upgrade their cameras from a 1984 camcorder to something a little more recent? Stockdale is right on one thing, some of the promos they had were downright amazing.
infinite1
08-13-2007, 08:23 AM
Justin Credible and Shane did have great promos but I agree with SOXFAN76 production was garbage, a bunch of daredevils and a few good athletes. But going back to McMahon story is not complete yet, as of right now it will be Mr. Kennedy but their is also talks of making it a daughter instead. HHH's feud will be with Orton and Cena all over again. I actually cant wait for the NEW Heartfoundation
SoxFan76
08-13-2007, 08:28 AM
Justin Credible was a nobody. That tells you how bad ECW was when a WWF jobber was one of the biggest ECW champions ever.
The old school ECW guys were good. I forgot about legends such as Benoit, Jericho, Guerrero, Mysterio, etc. But they were so good they got out pretty quickly to move on to bigger and better things.
infinite1
08-13-2007, 08:33 AM
Every one of those names all were much better in Japan. ECW didn't really create superstars, it just kept stars in the US. ECW is like the single A minors

08-13-2007, 09:00 AM
So who did end up blowing the car up?
SoxFan76
08-13-2007, 09:27 AM
Well originally it was going to be a "whodunnit" storyline. This was before Benoit.
Now he says he did it to see how people would react because he needs the attention. It was all an act and everyone fell for it and he wanted to see what the people would think.
Half assed attempt at killing (no pun intended) the storyline, but he was put in a tough spot.

See I used to watch it all the time. The reason I got away from it was McMahon. Sometimes I just wish they'd get to more wrestling, then having him and his family on camera.
I mean, I realize that he owns the company, and essentially can do what he wants. I just wish he'd realize how some fans just plain don't want to see him. I don't think I'm alone in this, as you've already pointed this out.
infinite1
08-13-2007, 11:48 AM
Thats the money maker though.. Think about it.. Everyone hates them but love to see him get his ass kicked. Anyone who Mcmahon feuds with become an instant fan favorite and sell the merchandise... Smart thinking in my opinion.
SoxFan76
08-13-2007, 11:55 AM
Yes, infinite. In Vince's defense, he is the biggest villian the WWF/E has had EVER. Remember back in the early 90's? The loveable Vince McMahon? He wasn't recognized as the owner, just a lowly announcer, and people would always pick on him. One day he had enough and came out and told everyone he was the owner and has never looked back. He is the one guy who consistently gets a reaction from the fans. He's so fun to hate with that goofy walk and shit eating grin.
I'm not going to lie to you, I'm looking forward to watching Raw tonight and seeing where this illegitimate kid thing goes. It's all a soap opera, yeah, but this isn't the days of independent federations in 1976. Lawler in Memphis, Ventura and Hogan in Minnesota, etc. This is 21st cenutry SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT. Storylines are part of it. It makes it more exciting.
PS, Umaga as a face really intrigues me. I'm curious to see how this goes. I heard he turned on Orton and Carlito last Monday.
infinite1
08-13-2007, 12:24 PM
Yes Umaga did turn on Orton and Carlito.. I just would like to know who Mcmahon is planning to feud with next because thats where Mr Kennedy is going to be involved. And it has always been a soap opera, just that now they are going overboard on some storylines.. Its just good entertainment for me

I never really thought much of the Road Dogg. I think he made an awful attempt to try to be that character. Yes, Triple H is an amazing wrestler, but he would have been on the same rise he was if not for DX. X-Pac, Road Dogg, and Billy Gunn needed DX to be popular, and I personally thought it sucked. Yeah I heard Stone Cold made another appearance at the Saturday Night Main Event taping. I usually don't read spoilers, but the last thing I'll be doing at 9:30 on a Saturday night is watching wrestling. So I just read the results.
If you ask me, SCSA needs to either start wrestling again, take on a permanent TV role, or get the hell off my TV. Having him make a random cameo when ratings are down is an insult to wrestling fans everywhere. "Hey ratings were low last week. Let's bring on a superstar from 6 years ago! People will love that. Then we'll have him vanish into oblivion until the next ratings drop."

Yes, wwf dabbeld in the concept but it was a rare gimmick match, same same as cage matches
WCW and WWF blatanly stole ideas like the stop sign and other issues in matches. Hell, ecw sued wcw because raven in wcw used a fans sign that was a "disguised" stop sign
So is that why vince began inter promotional work with them when they started to get hot?
Is that why bischoff states in his books about how they picked apart ecw?
There is a reason why fans(and wrestlers) love and respect tommy dreamer more than 2\3rds of the wwe roster
Ok, did u ever even watch ecw? I can put in a tape right now and it will have a few high spots(prob less than a typical wcw cruiser match) but they focused on putting on matches. The technical skill and non stop back and forth. Yes u had the garbage style wrestlers like sandman, foley, new jack etc etc, hell, if you want to use incorrect stereotypes, they had japanese wrestlers that WERENT high flyers, look at tajiri and masato tanaka, ecw based its style off of FMW and AJPW, being a stiff, realistic style of wrestling
In wwf and wcw, u could easily see the wrestlers wiff on each other
Every one of those names all were much better in Japan. ECW didn't really create superstars, it just kept stars in the US. ECW is like the single A minors
Created stars based on what they were when they got dumped by a company and woulda gone nowhere without ecw
Shane douglas
Chris Candido(rip)
Rey jr
Justin credible
chris jericho(also honorable mention to SMW)
The dudleys
Rob van dam
sabu
Steve austin
Tommy dreamer
Raven
You can say cactus jack because he was a mid range guy in wcw and only good for jobbing to vader and the nasty boys
Plus, i cannot say ecw created him but more that he helped create ecw but Terry Funk
ive also heard its a possibility HHH is Vinnie Mac's Bastard son!!!
then his son would be screwing his daughter!!!
Thats how Macmahon thinks.
But chances are its Kennedy.
agree but there was nothing that could compare to the 4 Horsemen.
So, are they gonna say its incest then between stephanie and HHH? Theyve done it before

I wouldn't say "stolen", but borrowed. The WWE on more than one occasion has credited ECW in beginning the hardcore revolution. The WWE and WCW just jumped on the bangwagon because that's what people wanted to see.

From what I saw of ECW, which granted wasn't as much as you, the early days wasn't AS hardcore as the later days. You're right, they had the Japanese guys that wanted to come over to America. It's not going to be a federation full of hacks. But overall the whole federation was a freak show. But man, when done well, those freak shows were damn entertaining. One that comes to mind is Awesome vs. Tanaka. It's all over YouTube. Tanaka just gets destroyed.

I guess its not incest- if both parties didnt know that both were dads spawn.
But if HHH knew all along, then YES
But Stephanie did say Dad's Bastard child was standing at ringside.
Maybe its Hornswaggle!!!
Then again, it has never officially been shown HHH is married to Stephanie
Remember when HHH and Michaels were joking about who stephanies babies father is?
everyone knows they are married in real life, but not on TV.

So then watch a fucking soap opera
There is a reason why amazing wrestlers like benoit and others were held back for so long, cuz of people like you who dont cheer or care about talent and only care about charisma. Hell, owen hart was killed because he refused to do a stupid adultery gimmick so they gave him the god damn blue blazer gimmick again
I could care less about mcmahon dying or having a kid or a guy who is apparently "undead" It worked when i was a kid but i grew up
Also, i wouldnt call the villa park odeum or the aragon brawlroom as bingo halls
Also, how many minor feds had tv contracts with spike tv\tna and ppv contracts? :jagoff:
Also, how many rabid fans do minor league baseball have other than nole

Brian Adams aka Demolition Crush
The Associated Press reports tonight that Brian Adams's wife found him unconscious in his home this morning. She called 911 at 11 a.m. Fire Rescue workers found him dead later. There were no signs of injury or foul play. An autopsy is planned for tomorrow. He was 44.
