Kevin Garnett could soon be the newest member of the Celtics, according to multiple league sources. A Celtics official also confirmed to the Globe's Jackie MacMullan that a deal was in place.

As the trade currently stands, Boston will send Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair and two future first-round picks to Minnesota in exchange for Garnett.

Because of all the contracts involved, the league may not officially sign off on the trade tonight and Garnett's contract still needed to be reworked.

Gomes and Jefferson?? I know it is Garnett, but that looks bad on paper for the Celtics. Maybe, Boston all of a sudden joins Orlando as teams I worry about.

Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and KG make the celtics one of the elite teams in the east.

Well, Boston gets a whole lot better, but sacrifices their entire bench to do so.

If one of Allen, Garnett, or Pierce goes down, it's all over for Boston.

Not to mention, they don't even have a starting PG or C that's worth a damn. I really would be surprised if they won the whole thing with Rondo and Perkins starting for them.

Knowing their run of bad luck in the past few years, that wouldn't be too much of a shock if that happened. That's also an educated prediction, based on the fact that the average age of those three are 31(Pierce 30, Allen 32, KG 31) with Pierce and Allen have had injury problems over the last two seasons. While KG has just way too much mileage to stay injury-free.

Then the starters for Boston better be able to play forty minutes a game, because their bench sucks even worse now. Still an impressive trio though.

According to Gorgeous George Offman on a Score update, the Celtics are trying to get Reggie Miller to come out of retirement.
