Do you think he was on the juice? Comes in like a bat our of hell.. Then they have the drug policy.. he starts breaking down.. Now he just seems like Danny Wright..
Thoughts?

Nah, I think he's just a perfect storm of hype, bad luck, and bad mechanics.

As well as terrible coaching.

How do you explain the drop off in velocity?

if that was the case.. How come Zambrano never had any major issues or drops off in velocity?

Nope. Just bad luck, I think. Some of his injuries were just the product of wrong place, wrong time (Giles).
Yeah, I have no idea why I threw that in there

This was being alleged a while back ............ I have to say something is Very Fishy about The Messiah. Remember how the Chicago Media peed themselves talking about his "perfect mechanics"? How he was the "perfect pitcher" and was on the express train to Cooperstown?

Don't worry. Dusty's reach won't miss Zambrano. It's just a matter of time, and the damage has already been done.

Yup, I agree. Zambozo better sign that $100 Million Deal or he's a Chump

I saw Prior pitch at USC - same delivery, same big calf muscles, etc. But I think Dusty killed him - that's why he's having so many issues. Plus, he fell to the dark side.

Jack McDowell thought Prior seemed to suffer the same injuries that most steroid users suffered from. When Prior came back last season and looked thin and gaunt pitching with a dead arm....it kinda made me go hmmm.

He was originally said to have perfect mechanics and that he'd virtually never get hurt--this is in addition to all his other demi-god-like qualities.
He and Kerry Wood, not to mention several of our failed prospects, strengthen my stance against hard throwing strikeout guys. Those guys just don't hold up. Give me pitchers like Buehrle and Garland who throw ground balls and are healthy year after year.
The mechanics thing seems to be debatable. Whenever I watch Prior, it looks very fluid, but I was reading some article on Yahoo! in which some anonymous MLB pitching coach said his mechanics were awful and he was a ticking time bomb three years ago.
I would say Zambrano's a time bomb too. Dusty's wake doesn't miss anyone. Hell, what happened to Clement- is he even in the Red Sox rotation this year?
