We still dont know who will win the 5th starters spot, theres still 2 open spots in the pen, will Erstad or BA be the starter in CF, who plays LF against righties, who fills out the bench, will the Sox go with 11 or 12 pitchers, Aardsma has looked like shit his last two outings.....this is just off the top of my head. Theres plenty to talk about but not alot of people seem interested in talking about it.:rock:

When he asked a similar question everyone was giving him shit for not starting a thread. People want to pass the buck but not take the intiative themselves.

For example. I must have listed at least 6 topics that could be posted as threads to talk about but everyone seems to be waiting for someone else to to start the thread or even come up with the idea. Other people can start threads just as easily as I can but I guess some would just prefer to bitch at others for not starting the threads.

The general sentiment is that it is early on in ST, and some of us (like me) do not have the opportunity to listen/watch any of the ST games. I have little to go on other than the grand total of 25 AB's Brian Anderson has taken so far etc.
We'll get the posts for sure. I have asked questions about so-and-so or whatever here and there, but many of the posts go somewhere completely different.
Personally, I blame fquaye, I start talking about Haeger and he want to remind me of Tim Wakefield's career stats. :shrug:

In those cases, it's because no one has anything to contribute, but that doesn't mean we won't post something. I don't see the quaye example as a good one. That's at least baseball related, but whatever.

Anyway, spring training is a big long mindfuck. The games mean nothing and while player development does, it's hardly indicative of things to come in the season. Also, we don't have access to the clubhouse and I think you kind of have to in order to know what the hell's going on in ST. That's how I feel about it.

Just wait until the real games start and the Dugout will be rockin and rollin, believe me. This site is only a few weeks old and the season is a few weeks away.

Sosa singled and doubled off of Floyd. Sosa hasn't had a multi-hit regular season game in what... 4 years? These games mean nothing. I am sure that Ozzie and Cooper look at mound presence, tempo and poise, the location of Gavin's pitches (pitching hard inside... going with soft stuff on the outer half - so batters know... look fastball inside, look changeup/curve outside) in regards to judging Floyd as the #5 starter.

ST gets here and all we have is people showing they hate the Cubs more than the love the White Sox.. The only time I see anything about the Sox its someone bitching about them like whoever started this thread. I came on here Monday morning expecting to talk about Sunday's game.. No one started anything about it.. Why? I would think that people would be watching the games and want to discuss things we saw.. Nope, instead it was more of the same.

I started the "Best Idea" Thread to maybe get people to start talking about the season, but it seems that more would rather discuss how X players Suck, or how the Cubs get more press coverage.. Look on the main page, I have not been here in a while when I come back to see what this place has been up to I see more of the same BS.

Many of you "vets" and yes that is not something to boast on about.. But there is very few here that can have an intelligent baseball discussion without it turning ugly. Most here can't discuss a team without using a bias opinion about our team.. Look at the Rowand thread, Palehouse13, is trying to mislead people with her stats to make a case for herself. I see that allot here... people using misleading facts to make their point.

I am trying very hard not to pass judgment but it seems that people here no very little about baseball, I won't get into politics forum. The Tiggers post in White Sox is a perfect example.. Rodgers has an opinion on what he feels they should do.. and people here are quick to pass judgment on rodgers without backing up their argument with facts. I won't get into the trolls you have here in FQ and Dale, both care more about their post count and attention then they do about quality..

There is a ton of stuff to discuss everyday, its just sad that only a select few are able to see that.

everyone ALWAYS says they can't wait for spring training. but no one actually CARES about what happens in spring training. The people who say they can't wait for spring training say so because spring training means the baseball season is almost here.

No. We all can see that. It's just a matter of whether we want to talk about some NRI's 3 for 4 day and what it means to the club.

Every year there are 3 or 4 players who tear it up in ST and 1 of those players will be good and 2 or 3 will not be on the roster.

Likewise there's always 3 or 4 starters who play poorly...and maybe 1 of those is an indication of a poor season to come, if any.

Well dude I do think for myself and I havent listened to the radio in while now.I have seen 2 Sox games on tv and havent heard any on the radio. I get my info from various sites on the net and from reading the box scores.:D

Actually,I have no idea what moderators do. I suspect a good many are picking their noses more than anything.

Someone invited me to join this group a month or so ago. When I finally did, there were very few members and I admit that I did not thoroughly familiarize myself with how the board works and still haven't. I move around a bit when I get online even though I stay on the site, I may have another thing going.
