Great trip, as always. This time, the bro and I hit Fricker's before the game for some amazing wings and Great Lakes brews. Lots of kids at the game to see Dora the Explorer and post-game fireworks. We sat right behind home plate for $8 per ticket, near the always-present Casey Rogowski cheering section (making the trip down from Michigan). BA remained unseen.
Richar looked very good. He's obviously fast and has a nice, line-drive stroke. I was concerned about his D, but he made every play, including a nice charge, grab, and flip to 1B on a slow roller. At this point, I'd be surprised if he wasn't the Sox starting 2B in 2008.
Sweeney had 2 fantastic OF assists from LF in the span of a few innings.
Broadway also looked good. It looks like he's throwing some kind of cutter and really worked the inside part of the plate effectively. He also caused a bunch of goofy-looking swings at his excellent curve. After setting it up with the FB inside, he can backdoor it for a called strike or run it away for a swinging strike.
