During the summer, apparently Dickinson would say some questionable things on stage\off stage that made sharon mad. I am not sure exactly but the only quote similar to this that i heard at tinley was "they want us to play only 55 fucking minutes, well we're playing 60 fucking minutes for ya!"

So in colorado, during the show, sharon had people constantly unplug the soundboard and had one of the BLS roadie rejects get on the pa off stage and chant "ozzy" during the maiden set. She also had her mutant daughter and friends get front row with security and threw eggs on stage at maiden. Maiden didnt stop playing, and would wipe off the shit after songs and keep playing.

that's the one I saw at Ozzfest. It was good, but definitely a full Maiden show is the way to go...

As far as the Union Juack, I believe one of Sharon's turds went up there and waved the American Flag around while they were doing The Trooper (which always has Bruce running around with a giant Union Jack)

this is hilarious and gay on numerous levels one being that it was supposed to be some jingoistic American cockblock of England and last time I checked.. the Osbournes were British...:shrug:

Alpine's Box Office is actually the HOUSE OF BLUES location downtown. I dont know thier hours.

Tinley's box office opens at 10:00am.

Maiden takes a little break before the second song as they clean up a mess on the stage. Bruce tells us is EGGS that were thrown at them. I think "How does someone sneak eggs into the pit?" Security was pretty tight going in the door.

Maiden continues - they're rocking - then all of a sudden during the second song, the sound goes out. Bruce is like "That's weird," but they keep playing, Then it happens like 6 more times during the show, all DURING songs - the sound just goes out.

During "The Trooper", a guy runs onto the stage during Bruce's Union Jack-waving carrying an American flag and tries to unfurl it. Guy clearly wears a shirt that reads "Ozzy rules." Security removes him (I think.)

Bruce gets real mad after this event and says "No offense - Who the hell tries to bring an American flag out during "The Trooper"? In case you don't know, we're from ENGLAND, and these colours don't run."

Sound goes out a couple more times, and I'm getting pissed. I paid good money for these seats and someone is clearly fucking with Iron Maiden.

At one point, Bruce says "All these songs we're playing are from our first 4 albums, but we've got a new one coming out next year. Unlike some bands, we're not a greatest hits act."

Bruce mentions that due to the sound problems and the other bullshit, they're gonna play longer than they should. Sound goes out in the middle of their last song and it doesn't go back on. Maiden bids goodbye and exits.

Sharon Osbourne then comes out to talk to the crowd, telling us she was responsible for what just happened, calling Bruce an asshole, and claiming that he thought he was bigger than Ozzfest. What she doesn't realize is that the crowd is all wearing Maiden shirts, and no one came because of the name "Ozzfest." People came to see Maiden and hardly anyone else. Then almost all of the people head to the exits, before Black Sabbath. Ozzy tries, in vain, to get the crowd into the Sabbath set, but the crowd won't respond. He was mad.

Read a couple interviews afterward in which Sharon claims that Bruce was ripping on Black Sabbath in his greatest hits band comment - but it could've been about nearly any of those old bands that are still touring without new material. And there are A LOT of them! And she felt justified in fucking with their set. Also, she took exception to the Union Jack during The Trooper, saying it's the wrong thing to do when America is at war. The song is about the Crimean War - a war America wasn't even in!

If I ever meet her, I might punch her out. The fans paid to see Maiden - and you decide to have your hideous kids throw eggs at them? Why not show some respect to the people who paid money to see your all-day suckfest? If you have issues with a band, deal with them backstage. Not while they're playing. And that sound thing - pure juvenile. Also, no one was there for Ozzy, despite what she may have thought.

It was a store that catered to metal and industrial fans, so you could buy your big platform boots and your sleeve of spikes to go up your wrist. But when they popped up in every mall, you aren't going to sell that stuff to everyone, they had to change what they sold in order to get them to all stay open and you got what you find now.
