an old Dell I bought in 1999 that I have rebuilt probably 10 times. I think the only original parts are the plastic case and the 3.5" floppy drive. I have an older IBM intellistation in my basement that is my music production compy, a Dell laptop from work and a graveyard of parts in boxes in the basement.

I'm on my 3 year old Dell Inspiron 1150. The cd player/burner has taken a shit.
My first was a HP. I thought I was cool back then, 1995.

HP zv6000 laptop w' amd athlon 64 processor. The left shift key and the semicolon key are mostly broken, and it has crappy battery life (largely due to the beefy processor)
Running Ubuntu 7.10 prerelease. :)

It's amazing, all the equipment you used to have is shrunk down into a laptop. I remember thinking that.

That's very cool; but, just take this little piece of advice from someone who used a laptop for about five years (until it bit the dust 2.5 years ago)...You can get tendonitis or carpel tunnel syndrom much easier due to the smaller keyboard. Be careful and so some hand "stretches" while using it. You'll thank yourself profusely!

I have a Dell laptop, which leads me to a question. Does anybody ever have problems with the finger mouse? Sometimes the cursor just gives me fucking problems and never moves, or if it does move - it goes where ever it wants to go.
