It was a rough morning. With the daylight savings time I couldn't go to bed at a decent hour and it was hard getting up and hour earlier (than what my body is used to). It was also dark as hell when I woke up. I don't like that!

This is a horrible Monday. I live below a 26 yo spoiled brat...let me just explain:

This is a guy who's parents are rich. He is about 25-26 years old. His parents bought him a condo in my building...and paid cash for it. Now, let me just say this...his unit costs over a half million dollars, and his parents paid it for him...along with his 60" plasma and high end stereo equipment. Now here is my problem...this cocksucker does not work. He parties regularly. He brings girls and other people home to show off his stuff at all hours of the night and blasts his stereo from his living room, which, I should mention is located directly above my bedroom. I have gone upstairs to knock in his door and ask him to turn it down many many times, and he keeps doing it. See, I have to go to work every morning to this crappy job so that I can pay my mortgage, and this cocksucker lives off his daddy and insists lives it up off his parents' dime.

I dont know why he just did not move into Wrigleyville with the rest of the assholes his age that do the same thing. My building is small and pretty much all families...

Anyway, he kept my up all night and I have a major presentation I have to get done today...

I hate all that he is about. Fucking rich kids!

Hi, Lena. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I left you at the hospital. I called a phone sex line. I called a phone sex line before I met you. And four blonde brothers came after me, and they hurt you, and I'm sorry. And then I had to leave again because I wanted to make sure you never got hurt again. And...and I have a lot of pudding...and...in six to eight weeks it can be redeemed; so if you could just give me that much time, I think I can get enough mileage to go with you wherever you have to go, if you have to travel for your work because I don't ever want to be anywhere without you. So could you just let me redeem the mileage?

I'm so the opposite there. I absolutely LOVE driving to work in the dark. I hate it when it's light outside and I have to drive to work.

Anyways, today started off on a HUGE positive swing, as I walked into my classroom and saw that they painted my walls, which I only had to request from the building engineer ONCE! It takes literally YEARS for other teachers to get their requests answered. It's great to be respected around these parts. Now I don't have to see the bad graffiti on my walls anymore. Now all I have to do is to do something about that back bulliten board.

This is why I bought a house..I refuse to live in an apartment building where (a) everyone complains if you have anyone over for a visit of (b) you have to get up early and are trying to sleep and some idiot is playing music until 3 in the morning..

I love my neighbors..but prefer space between us..if I want to have a party I don't want to worry about being too loud and vice versa..

Condos and apartments need to be built with better soundproofing..some of the walls in some of these buildings are as thin as tissue paper..

Same here, there's something oddly comforting about driving to work in the morning while it's dark. I feel like I have a head start on the day...whereas when it's all sunny out I have the sense that I've lagged behind and the world has started without me.

I don't mind seeing the sun up while I'm driving to work. I don't get to see it all day long since there are very few windows in the basement I work in. :(

Driving is for jerks and lesbians.

Real lumberjacks walk or take the train.

Speak for yourself! I'll take my short 20 minute drive to work instead of having to take the Orange Line five stops, transfer to a bus, creating an hour-long commute time to work every day (and even more back), thank you very much!

Walking, busing, or taking the train is for chumps who can't afford a car.

But seriously, there really is no reason to take public transit (i.e. the bus) in Milwaukee if you own a car. And I love to drive. I started looking into doing drive aways over breaks.

This day didn't start off well at all!

I got to school at 6:45a, only to discover none of the clocks had been changed, so the first thing I saw when I walked in was a clock that read 5:45- UGH! I got into my classroom & turned my computer on, only to discover the updates that had been run on all of the machines on Friday in my computer lab by the company that maintains our network didn't work, so all of the clocks were off. Because of this, I was fielding complaints from the ladies in the office.

I booted up the laptop and turned on the LCD projector I was going to use for my first class, only to discover the updates I ran on Friday for DST also didn't take. Even worse, I clicked on the Internet when the kids sat down to begin my lesson and it froze three times, leaving me with no choice but to do a lesson based around a visual aid without a working visual aid.

My next class came in and I planned for them to save some files on their CDRWs. One student's CDRW wouldn't open and got stuck in the computer, so I had to junk the one she had from last year and have her start fresh. And this was all before 9:15!

It was just one of those days. And to top it off, I ended it by smashing the back of my head into the corner of a locker in the locker room at the track my best friend from work & I do our power walking. :omg:

The only saving grace was today's great weather and the fact that I got an amazing deal on a laptop I ordered for myself!

I am totally with you. I'm a night person and it is hard for me to get to sleep before midnight. I should probably be heading in that direction now. What's the difference? Bars are more fun at 7:30 than 4:30 and a lot more fun at 12:30 than 9:30. If you don't have to get up at 7, it's no longer important to get home from work when it's still light out. Plus, circadian rhythms...

Yeah, man. I work 11am-7pm and couldn't be fucking happier. EVERYONE seems tired but me, especially going out at night and I sleep 'til fucking 10:15am every day. Which means I can stay out til' 2am every night and STILL get 8 hours of sleep.

Eight hours of sleep? What are you six?

When I was working at Arrow Chevy, I'd work awesome shifts like 6am-10pm every Saturday and 2-10:30 on Mondays, Wednesdays through Friday and then 6am-4:00pm on Tueday. That was excellent cash.

It's all about 8 hours of sleep. I am all that is man. And studies show that I'll live to be 106. http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/4380/muscleyy6.gif

Either way, I'm not a morning guy. I'm basically worthless before noon. If I had to work 9-5 (or fucking 8-4) I'd just be miserable all day, every day.

In his past life, Chips was a Midwestern farmer.

Me: gets up around 8am every day and is at my desk by 9. Would prefer 11-7 schedule as Unreg said.

8 hours of sleep is pretty fuckin essential.

Gets up at Eight! Knob, I'm usually at my desk for a half or so by then. Up at 5:30 or 6. Sometimes I catch Saved By The Bell on TBS.

I have never been an early riser. But at least I don't fall off my stool at Puffer's when I get too tired.

9 to 5 sucks.

8 to 4 is so much better.

You know what I'd do if I got out at 4? Go home and take a nap until 7.

That bed is for regular sleeping, not fancy sleeping.

I get off work about 3:45-4:00, am home by about 4:45, play with my kids, have a couple drinks and am in bed by 10:00. Top that, rouge...

How's about it. I worked the 6:30-3pm full-time for about two years. Never adjusted in the least. If I wasn't almost passing out on the ride home, I'd get home, sit on the couch and zonk for a couple hours.

That's no way for a man to live.

Then, if I wasn't passing out, I'm doing a whole lot of jack because it's 3 in the freakin afternoon and I'm dead tired. Plus, I'm still not going to bed until midnight, so it's a whole lot of half-ass contemplation going on for 9 hours, since my brain waves were at quarter capacity.

Never again.

Those jobs are where it's at. I agree with Ballz, why does everyone want to get up at 6 and 7? It's as antiquated as the summer break.

QFT

Year-round school is the best idea ever.

Exactly, what's the attraction at 4-5? There ain't shit to do. See, it's people lik Chips who love getting up early and rushing to get home that ruin it for the rest of us natural Europeans types. Fucking America and their early to rise bullshit. :jagoff:

The best 8 hour shift to accomodate a single man and his drinking/womanizing addicitions are a 2-10 shift or 3-11.

Fuck that sleeping in shit.

The Fed and the markets don't keep your crazy hours. It's essential to business.

You're still young, Chipper. One day you'll wake up and realize that you spend 8 hours a day busting your ass for someone else who gets all the credit, not making nearly what you deserve and, essentially, that what you're doing couldn't be any less important in the grand scheme of things. Then you'll realize that you don't give a flying fuck what is "essential to business." You want to go out and live your life. Not be in bed by 11pm to start your job that no one cares you do.

So what type of amazing job do you have? It isn't like Chips goes home at night and debates hanging himself.

I couldn't handle that. If I had an 8 hour shift it would be afternoons. I hate day time.

I just have a job that I don't have to wake up early for or think about when I'm not there. That's good enough for me.

There's certainly nothing amazing about it.
