Tomorrow's the day the 2007-2008 NHL Schedule is supposedly coming out!!!!! Hopefully there is at least one weekend game among the Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal games. I'd really like to go on a road trip this season.

That sounds killer. Toronto's cool. I've never been to Montreal but I've always wanted to check it out. Isn't your BF living in the Land to The North?

Yep. He lives in the Greater Toronto Area. I've been to Toronto probably 20-30 times in the past nearly 4 years that we've been in this relationship. But, never for a Blackhawks game. I have been there for a Bulls victory over the Raptors and a Sox loss to the Jays, however.
Truth be told, we met because of Blackhawk Hockey!

Which reminds me. Does that mean that the Hawks aren't going to finish in the toilet again next year?

That will probably be Nashville, who is giving away players so that they tank so badly the team will move due to low attendance. Gary Bettman's working hard to get the NHL out of Nashville.

It's the league I follow the most. Any questions? Ask away!
So, the Maple Leafs and Senators games are both on Saturdays? Hmmm! I could do both! It's too bad the Montreal game's the Tuesday after we go back from winter break. Oh, well! Two of three isn't that bad!

Here is a great question.
What is icing?
I seriously don't know about it.
I used to watch hockey back in the day, but I haven't watched a game since the lockout.

icing is when one team shoots the puck from behind their side of the center line (the red line). if the puck travels all the way behind the goal line, and the other team (but not the other team's goalie) touches the puck first, it is icing, and a face off is held at the faceoff circle in the team that commited the foul's defensive zone
i used to play hockey up until i was like 15. i know pretty much all the rules, but i'm not clear about the 2 line pass b/c it was never enforced at my level

It must also be mentioned that icing does not apply when you're on the penalty kill.
Two-line offside passes were done away with during the "new" NHL rules. I like it, as it makes for a more open game! But, what they used to do was call a play "dead" if someone passed the puck over two lines (center line and blue lines only) to a teammate. The faceoff was usually on that dot you see near the edge of the neutral zone.
