..anyone ever play in a league like this? Or even a fantasy baseball or basketball? My buddy and I were talking about it last night. Some of the people in our league get a little annoying, and we want to mix it up where you have to actually put some strategy in it (which I always thought was the point).

We just finished the draft in my main league, it was an auction style draft and you were given $1,150 and you had to keep the signings under 75 years. Heres my team. We start defensive players in this league also.. somehting I have never done before. I think my teams alright, other than having to get a shitty QB to fill in for Manning on week 6.

That is an awful lot of players. Yeah, the idea was to go off of one magazine, because I have seen some money values assigned to some players. The idea was floated as using whatever the actual salary cap was, say $110. I like it for a number of reasons....
1. We have fantasy vulchers. Guys who pick up somebody who does good one week, and then never start them.
2. It seems like you can do stuff with keepers which I like.
3. Effects draft strategy. I always pick running backs with my first two picks, but this year I have Reggie Bush as my keeper. Now I can pick a running back and get a decent QB. But now I can get a good one right away that doesn't eat up my cap value. Kind of like picking Bulger at 16 compared to picking Peyton at 29.

Yeah, I never take a QB first and always go RB RB then usually WR. In my auction I got Manning though, may have overpaid a bit but I don't care, I go him for 5 years. Some dude got LT and LJ for like $800 total and had to still fill the other 33 spots on his roster with $350.:laff: I have never been in a league with contracts and years so it should be interesting. I am also in a 2 man keeper league, I think I am gonna keep Maroney and Parker.

Yeah, not sure how your points go, but getting both LT and LJ sounds good, but when you can't get anybody else...
Last year Peyton went in the first round, but he's a little different. The second round went QB wild, Palmer, Bulger, Pennington, McNabb. I've never been in a draft in which it goes how you'd think it would.
