Have you heard the Raconteurs? They're Jack White and some of the Greenhornes. Good stuff. They answer the question "how awesome would the White Stripes be if they were a full band?"

If you have heard them, sorry for insulting your musical intelligence.

I don't think they're better than the Stripes but they're pretty good. If the Stripes were a full band, they wouldn't be as good. It's all about the rawness. They're putting out a new album this year which is not bad considering their last was in '05 and White was with the Raconteurs for all of last year and prior to that.

Much like fans of Mindless Self-Indulgence love The Left Rights, which is the same band, but they record in their bedroom instead of a studio.

Funny shit, those Left Right guys...

Is that uber-list of pain and intimidation saved on your computer somewhere or do you just type away everytime?

For me, the top two are "untouchables", meaning that, as others in the list may come and go occasionally, these two will always remain at the top of the list--

Pink Floyd
Old Metallica

Then the rest:

Beatles (John Lennon, Wings, George Harrison)
Mule/ PW Long
Bob Dylan
A Perfect Circle
Slint
The Jesus Lizard
Melvins
Helmet
Simon and Garfunkle
Neil Young
Iron Maiden
The Refused (last record only)

Really! I think he's a pussy. Willie Adler (guitarist whos about 5" shorter) kicked the singers ass in either Edinburg/Glasgow Scotland while on tour. It was funny cause the fight was over before it started.

I think theres some effects that go into his voice. Alot of singers like him use some shit to make their voices sound "cool". He does have a deep voice though.

bingo.

it's too much of a combination of disparate sounds.

For instance, Jack White has always played a kind of music that doesn't suck....whereas Benson specializes more in making really really shitty music

Let's not keep presenting one's opinion as a fact now. You don't want to be a hypocrite.

Since we're discussing specific bands, it's safe for me to say that you like a lot of shit and not be a hypocrite.

If I were to say "Rock N' Roll SUX!!!!" then not qualify it with anything but the fact that I don't like it, I'd be a moron and a hypocrite.

Just right now I guess. I still enjoy the tunes of bands like Poison the Well and the Refused.

Dismemberment Plan is pretty good. They kind of have an older Jimmy Eat World sound to them, but less poppy and more transcendant.

The Shape of Punk To Come is a brilliant record....

Poison the Well has their moments, but the emo is oftentimes overpowering. When they just straight pwn with the metal, it's all good.

Let's see, my list is ecclectic, but you get the idea, in no particular order:

I could go on...............

I could go on as well, but I only listed the bands that had many albums that I listen to, not just a few songs. Otherwise the list could go on for days.

The Shape of Punk to Come is the best "hardcore" album that I have ever heard.

Have you heard Poison the Well's latest album? The emo is almost completely gone, its now uber pwnage with lots of metal/hardcore/screamo good times.

No, you stated that you think gangsta rap sucks and that you really don't know shit about it before '93. You then go on to say that "rap sucks" which makes you a dingleberry...

Anyway, wrong thread!

The Poison the Well EP "Distance Only Makes the Heart Grow Fonder" is their finest moment. Opposite of December was pretty good too, they started their downhill trek on Tear from the Red, now they just aren't worth listening to.

No way, they had a sound that distanced themselves from others. It was excellent, then they just turned into another one in the crowd.

No, you don't understand, these are all CD's, vinyls, and casettes that I OWN. I listen to a lot of them quite frequently, as my darlig daughter downloaded them to the computer, and burned custom CD's for me. She is okay sometimes.
