At least Slipknot is a rock band that rocks. Whether you like them or not (and why I'm defending them..I have no idea. I know 1 song), you can't deny they can rock it out.

KISS had to be the most pussy rock band of all time. I know it was the 70's, but it was light even for then. Zeppelin and Boston were rockin out while KISS was singing I wanna rock and roll all night.....and party everyday!

See, I don't mind KISS and I don't really like the screaming of Slipknot. I guess my argument is the 2 bands shouldn't be compared to one another.

It's not really that huge of a redeeming quality when your catalogue ALSO includes Beth and I Was Made For Loving You...

My point isn't that Slipknot is better than KISS, it's that they both pretty much blow.
KISS' blowitude has more mass appeal and that's the sole reason they're considered a "classic" band...

Otherwise, KISS/ Slipknot = Same concept....

For further reference, I'd also put Marilyn Manson in the same category.

I wasn't implying that either. I'm just sayin, they may not have been groundbreaking epic musicians with unmatched technical skills, but their songwriting was about as good as anyone else's in the last 30 years. KISS songs are catchy and get stuck in your brain, for better or for worse. I actually fucking hate the style of music... but I have to respect it.

Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, etc are forgettable and no one will care about them in 20 years. Besides, Slipknot completely RIPPED their whole entire shtick from Mushroom Head.

In the 70s, was KISS remembered for their music? Yes but only a select songs, the majority of people knew who kiss were because they knew about the face makeup, gene simmons' tongue and blow fire

Slipknot was 8 guys in masks who played every song in G, nothing musically spectacular. They are shock rockers like how KISS was
