This History Major who especially liked the Middle Ages did not. I'll catch it again. I especially like the "Engineering An Empire" series.

They've kind of played out the Modern Marvels idea though. They had one on Runways for Pete's sake:omg:

I watched a lot of it. Great stuff. The History Channel sure has come a long way since the days it was refered to as the "Hitler Channel" because all the material they had seemed to be about WW2.

I also watched Cameron's production about Jesus's tomb and another 2 hr production that explained and debunked a bunch of the myths about the Free Masons. I found the special Cameron's special pretty convincing that it actually is the the family tomb of Jesus. Cool stuff.

Over the past few months or so I have caught "Dogfights" several times. That is some good stuff. Definitely info you will not find in history books.

They also showed Midlothian and Bachelor's Grove.
That is actually off the Midlothian Turnpike off of Ridgeland. We get the credit for it, but technically I suppose you can refer to it as 'un-incorporated Midlothian.'

You can't do shit there. We wanted to go one time around Halloween in high school, but cops were all over the place. They beef it up around 4th of July as well.

Good to hear the channel's actually moving away from the WWII obsession. I actually stopped watching for that very reason-- "Hitler: In Color!!!":jagoff:

I was just watching Channel 11 and Muddy Waters is buried in Alsip. They also showed Midlothian and Bachelor's Grove.

I watched that show as well. That bald dude does a great job with local history.

Caught the midnight replay. Damn awesome. I had no idea how brutal the Spartans were. :rock:fuck yeah. They litterally stood up to 10,000+ Persians, twice! and won. They had to get surrounded to get beaten. I was not aware of the whole story. How that battle allowed the Greeks to ultimately win, and thus spread western civilazation. Truely history changing event.

IMAX tomorrow for 300 for me. Although, I'm glad I saw the history channel show first. Now I know the real story. I'm sure the movie will be glamorized. Which I am fine with btw. I watch the history channel to be educated, I go to the movies to be entertained.

:boohoo:

Think that kid would've survived the initial screening Spartans receive?
