notable qoutes
"The Chicago Bears team? The coaches, players, city and fans? Yeah, I could stay there forever. I love it. But the Chicago Bears organization? I don't want to be there anymore. I won't play for them and I'll do everything in my power to keep from playing there."
-- Lance Briggs
"It's a great bunch of guys with a great future, but I can't see myself as being part of that future anymore," Briggs said. "Whatever options are available to me, I'll take advantage of them. But going back and playing for the Bears again, no, I don't see that as an option. Not one more day. Not at all."

Same thing was said about Holdman, Colvin.. I'm not worried JA will draft some stud in the 5th round and in about 2 years we all are going to be going Briggs Who? ;)
You know what? Briggs is great, but I'd rather have the two draft picks than an unhappy, overpaid Briggs on the team. Because, if recent history shows, Jerry Angelo will pull something out of his ass and turn it into gold.

Obviously spelling is not one of the staples of the program.

There in lies the problem.. no one is going to give up 2 draft picks for a QB.. let alone a LB.

Which means that Briggs has painted himself into a big corner. He's hedging his bet that the Bears will pay, because if he was so good and such a game-plan changer, teams would be lining up to give away the two draft picks.
Uh-oh, there is a problem. Like you said no one is giving it up the picks for a QB, why would they for a system OLB?

Briggs is on crack.
He's got the franchise label and he knows he can't do anything about it. He's whining until he gets mo' money mo' money mo' money.
Then he'll shut his trap.
What else does he have to complain about? The team was in the freakin' super bowl.
Briggs is what is wrong with sports.
He gets paid, plays on a title contender, has fans who worship him and he still complains...
Life is so hard being Briggs

the system made Briggs a pro bowler.
I'm not saying that Briggs isn't a great ballplayer, but this system made him.
I don't wish him anything but the best, but he's going to be in for a rude awakening if he's traded.

How so? He's still gonna get paid.
The team that would trade for him and pay him the money he wants is the one in for the rude awakening.

if he's traded and doesn't hold out, he's in for a rude awakening, how about that?
