Personally, I think this is a good idea. Some people need to find a sense of class. If a high school graduation is the highlight of your academic career, then you have problems.

Oh and my dad's highest level of education is high school and he's now an assistant VP for a gas company.

My father's highest level of education is also high school, doesn't mean that he was hollering at my graduation.
These kids/families were warned ahead of time, they should have known better.

SF76 talked about the trades. Well don't you have to go to a trade school, and that leads you to a job??? That seems like a much higher academic achievement than high school.

That's bullshit right there. If that happened to me I'd just tell those assholes to keep the diploma rather than do public service work or whatever they need to do to get it.
That being said, people that scream and cheer like that at graduations are annoying as hell.
