Tonight Liddell vs Jackson.
For those on the NWSIDE, theres a bar on Montrose called SKORES, just west of Narragansett, that is showing the fight.
I imagine a small cover charge applies.

The Parisyan Burkman fight was fucking awesome. Karo owned with those Judo throws.
Liddell got jacked. Really surprising that he went for a low body blow without covering... and he paid the price.
Best part of the night was Din Thomas calling out Mayweather... "Talking shit Floyd Mayweather??? Come and fight me... bring it!"
Mayweather wouldn't stand a chance, even against the lightweight JJ/MMA guys.

By the way, what was up with Couture's nose? Looked like a big cut on the leftside of the bridge of his nose... I know he's training for his title defense against Gonzaga, but I wonder who jacked him?? Was it Parisyan, with whom he trains?? Maybe Maurice can fill us in??? :)

I was impressed... but... there's a reason why he's 37 and his professional record contains only 7 decisions.
Rampage would fuck his shit up, big time.

Overheard a couple of guys at the bar last night talking about it. They told me that it wasn't that big of a blow to Liddell's chin.

So Lidell lost!!! how did he look?
Every time UFC does a big fight the Favorite loses. I guess thats good for business, but people anticipated a Cro Cop-Lidell or Coture fight.
Now its Silvia and Jackson who might get a payday.
Just weird.
It proves UFC and MMA is not fixed.

Well, of course not. He didn't even hit him in the chin. He hit him on the side of the face and it snapped his neck around. It wasn't that shot that KO'ed him, it was the pounding he took when he hit the mat.

Rampage is a bad matchup for Liddell. Liddell's sting of victories was against guys who are mostly wrestlers / submission guys. He has a great sprawl to neutralize their ground game and better standup then they do. Rampage, OTOH, likes to stand and bang. He's very good in the clinch and is technically a better striker than Liddell. Liddell also likes to hang back and counter-strike. Rampage goaded him into coming forward, and Chuck paid the price.
Parisyan always is fun to watch. Judo throws are awesome, and it's unbelievable how well he can execute them against an opponent wearing only boxing trunks. He's also surprisingly young.
Martin is a Chicago guy who has been doing very well since he droped down to middle weight. It's amazing that he has time to train while working on his PhD in Psychology.
The next UFC looks like a snoozer, but UFC 73 probably will feature:
- Silva v. Marquardt for the MW belt
- Sherk v. Franca for the LW belt
- Tito Ortiz v. Rashad Evans
- Big Nog v. Heath Herring

This ended up being a pretty good card. I love watching Karo, can't wait for his cousin to get in the LW mix too.
72 won't be too bad, at least it's free. I've come to learn you really can't sleep on Okami, he's almost as big as Franklin at 185, and he's a hard hitter.
73 is stacked, and is named so as well. Only thing that sucks is we have to watch Big Nog beat up Herring for the THIRD TIME. Can't wait for Evans to shut up Tito though.

Lidell actually looked scared to me, most of his fights he seems confident with every punch he throws. The shot to the body was very weak as he was stepping back Rampage cought him with a great shot to the face. Now was it me or did it seem like Rampage hit him so hard and frequently that it woke him back up ?

I think Tito will beat Evans in 2 rounds but now Griffin vs Tito was a classic, I would love to see that one again..

Rumors for UFC 74:
- Couture vs. Gonzaga for the HW belt
- GSP vs. Josh Koscheck (winner in line for WW shot after Hughes?)
- Tim Sylvia vs. Frank Mir (both former HW champs)
- Joe Stevenson vs. Kurt Pellegrino (battle of submission specialists)
