I am poised to attend this ballgame. I can't wait to drink Old Style here in Arizona.

I'll be watching the game at home this afternoon with Mrs. Wsoxmick. Do a little laundry, drink a few beers, and watch the Sox humiliate the Cubs in front of a National audience on WGN.

Yeah it's on WGN, or that's what the Trib claims

I would watch it but WGN doesn't come in at work here too well.

I stand corrected. I looked at the Direct TV guide thing before it had changed to include the 2:00 time slot. Or something.

The Sox site only lists the games on TV with Sox broadcasters. This game is with the Flub announcers.

I know it's shallow and petty, but even in a meaningless spring training game, I enjoy hearing the Sox stick it to Chicago (NL). :D

No. There were not many opportunities to play small ball, but they did play a little small ball late.

I'm definitely not concerned over Paulie and JD hitting dingers. They're not here to bunt, they're here to drive in runs, and that's what they did.

I thought everybody looked fantastic today! Garland was strong with his 3 IPs and only one hit given up, and it was great to see Danks & Aardsma come on in relief, who also looked strong! Fields had a couple of great, Crede-esque plays down at third, which were great to see!

Offensively, it was ON- Konerko with two bombs, Dye with a 3-run shot, and even Mackowiak got in on the fun!

I watched the whole game and despite the non-stop man love for Soriano and the continuous gushing about Santo being denied a place in the Hall of Fame (yawn), it was AWESOME to watch baseball again! :nana:

I prefer to see a single or double than a 3 run bomb.. That is the mindset we got into last year and lost us allot of games..a run here a run there adds up and wears on the other team.

Now granted the pitch to JD was right down Broadway. I liked Fields being aggressive on the basebaths.. He is look more and more like Crede replacement.

I jsut don't want to get to HR happy this spring, we are suppose to get back to small ball.. aka winning ball.. not hR ball

Uh...they recognized they were meatballs, and took them out of the park. It wasn't as if they came up to the plate thinking homerun (like it looked Josh Fields was doing :( ).

The team still hit 200 homeruns in 2005, it's not like they were suddenly swinging for the fences. Look at the lineup and you know you're going to get a lot of dingers. It's just that in 2005, they got the guy over when they needed to, stole the base, took the extra base, and hit sac flies (every one of which was done today, except the sac fly; and when Anderson was given the opportunity to do so, he hit a double).

I don't want to take away from the great game the Sox played today, but...

That Cubs broadcast was brutal. They kept talking about Soriano's drive to play the game and he just loves being on the field. Wasn't this the same guy who wouldn't stop bitching when Washington asked him to move to left?

The Soriano man-love was just too much.

Len Casper is a freaking tool. It was unbearable listening to him yesterday. I couldn't take it and finally walked away from the game after Dye hit his 3 run HR.

That's a 13-2 Sox winner over the Cubs, and our player of the game is....Alphonso Soriano who went 3 for 3.
