This is from the rumor mill (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Super-shuffle-McNabb-Briggs-swap-makes-sense;_ylt=AuO5WWQvMqWbEZkhF9BDuU1DubYF?urn=nfl,33 381)on yahoo sports. I am a fan of Rex, but he can take a backseat to McNabb...IMHO, of course.
Is this being talked about in Chicago?

Briggs for McNabb? It'll happen right after Gload for A-Rod.

Yeah, it just doesn't make any sense from Philly's standpoint.
The Eagles are going to trade their franchise QB and have this shrug-worthy rookie start for the entire season? Do they even have a 3rd stringer who would serve as backup?
This is like the Cubs rumors that happen every offseason. "_______ is originally from Chicago and grew up a Cubs fan. Will this be the year the Cubs trade for him?"

Don't kill the messenger. I'm just reporting on what I read. ;)
Unreg...I would agree with you, but the report comes out of Philly.

Well it sounds like a steal for the Bears to get a starting QB for a dude who refuses to play for the team that is trading him.
I won't hold my breath for this one. :hello:

I'm not, but sometimes it's fun to dream. You know...like Favre dreamt about Randy Moss. :anal:

Everyone knows by now the mind set of Lovie....In Rex We Trust....so for da Bears to trade Lance for another qb who is coming off of an ACL job has a probability factor of .000000000001%.
this would have made some sense had the eagles kept garcia. but now, it doesnt

Here is where I am troubled with this..
1. The Eagles can't be seriously thinking about going to the rookie.
2. The Eagles play the Bears this year.
3. The NFL East is probably the toughest division in the conference
4. The Eagles may have the play the Bears at some point in the playoffs.
All of that doesn't seem like a reason to get rid of a veteran quarterback. Regardless of how he has played in the past year and regardless of his injury. You are basically telling your fans, "Look, we are going to take a year off. We'll see in you 2008."

It's good to dream about McNabb, but I doubt Angelo would pull the trigger even if he had the opportunity. With the Bears starting 85 QB's in the last 15 years, they'll just keep that revolving door open if Rex starts out the season sucking next year.

Eagles are not going to give McNabb away. They are going to want a lot in return for one thing and I don't thikn they are going to give Kolb, who they drafted, the keys to the car just yet.
Eagles best chance to win it all is McNabb at QB.
I can't see it happen.
