Chicago SunTimes:
3 cub stories
2 sox stories
Chicago Tribune:
2 cub stories
6 sox stories

96 Losses in 2006, Last place finish, Laughingstock of MLB Cubs 84
90 Wins in 06, WSChamps 05, 14 90-win seasons since 1950 SOX 46

The papers today make quite a splash about Ozzies comments towards ex-Sox Brandon McCarthy. I happened to hear McCarthys interview on the Score late yesterday afternoon, and the guy comes off very believable and well-spoken. Im glad he did his interview, because what comes across, is how all of his comments were taken out of context. Brian Anderson today said it perfectly, that McCarthy is still saddened that he was traded. Hey,
the guy loved the SOX, how can anyone slight him for that? Carlos Zambozo made the biggest headlines, GUARANTEEING a world series for the north siders. Yawn.

For a team that has been clearly the better ballclub over the last 40 seasons,
2nd best record in the entire 1990's Decade, Have posted 2 90-win seasons in a row, 5 90-win seasons since 1990, 14 90-win seasons since 1950, and winning Chicagos 1st World Series in 88 Years in 2005, you would think the Chicago White Sox would be dominating in Media Coverage. They're not.

Not only did he guarantee a World Series for them, I also heard him say he's winning himself the NL Cy Young Award this year! :omg:

Ok i must question

I dont get the comparison of the sox\cubs in a 2 year span

Also i dont get the so called media bias, specif this year. The soxr this year have been quiet while the cubs have been active, its natural the media would cover 1 over the other, specif when neither made playoffs last year

Then again, am i gonna get banned cuz im annoyed with the flubsession just like on wsi me declaring that lirian IS\WAS a good pitcher

I wouldn't call the Sox offseason "quiet" by any means. It was controversial and showed a completely polar opposite philosophical approach to putting together a team capable of winning now AND in the future. What amazes me is how large that gap becomes between the coverage.
Assuming those numbers are correct, that's nearly double the stories since the beginning of ST... That's obscene.
And if my memory serves me correctly, even having a great offseason last year, coming of the 1st WS championship in this city in 88 years, the Sox could still barely keep up in the level of coverage... Even as they battled through the season while another team collapsed by May.

eh, i tend to agree with you---the cubs had a more headline making offseason. the only things there really is to say about kw's offseason are "he's putting his hope in young arms"...and 90% of articles to that end are going to be negative, i think

That was a hell of a thing when Spock died.
