Before today's game, i went to the Full Schilling on clark, a decent bar that gives out free hot dogs before the game.
This young cub fan who was home on leave, he is heading to Kuwait
next week, told me along with three older 50ish cubfans that the Cubs dont need a world championship, because its all about having fun, and drinking beers and being happy in life.
They just want to fill the stadium and think they are the greatest fans because they go, win or lose, to the most beautifull park on the planet.
"We dont want a Championship, look at you guys you win one TWO years ago
and now you suck"!!!!
I told them Sox fans cant stand to lose and wont accept losing, they said "well thats just you guys" It dont matter to us.
Then they said Hey you won two years ago, big deal, what happened last year?
They were really laying into ozzie thick, defending Mike North.
Saying they cant wait till ozzie explodes, and they love it when he goes off the deep end.
Then at the game, this young cubfan, was saying how A.J. said "F**K
Guillen" on the mike north show.
When did he say this?
It was the worst game, ive ever attended, its really frustrating to be a sox fan
now.
But there is Today (sunday) and we will win, and rebound, and still have a hell of a season.
But the memory of saturdays game will forever be etched in Cub fans minds , and we will be hearing about it for a long long time.

what you described is one big reason why the rivalry is over. We want rings they want to "have fun". OK whatever.
I have alot more fun winning championships. I'd like to think there are many good Cub fans out there who are the opposite of what was described. Having fun losing is just plain retardedness.

They're irresponsible consumers... Bottom line. I usually try to keep the deeper theories about WHY Cubs fans are idiots out if the conversation because, basically, they cannot possibly understand it. They're children. They're the pompous rich kids that know not what they do. They for some reason think that it's all there FOR them, not being able to fathom the idea that they're merely there FOR it. They expect nothing so they get nothing. Meanwhile, the people raking in all the cash laugh, play to their ignorances, tell them what they want to hear, and sell them fools gold at an absurd profit. And as their standards sink lower, they're exploited even further. All the while pretending like it doesn't matter if they win or lose.
Who in their right minds would want to have fans like that anyway?? Your mom is supposed to love you win or lose. Your fans are supposed to push you to be better.
Losers.

But those Loser fans are going happy crazy today, and a ton of us Sox fans

When they say they don't care about winning, they're either stupid, or they're full of shit. I would guess that most of them are full of shit. They only say "we don't care about stupid championships anyway" because they will probably never see the Cubs win one and they know it. Fuck them.

I am not even signing because this is embarrasing.. Those losers whos supposedly don't care about winning are cheering so much as those pathetic Cubs are making us look like them, breaking apart in the later innings.... Damn those Cubs and Cub fans

So what... It was one series... Avoiding the sweep would be nice, but only a Cubs fan would overblow the significance of it. Give them what they want and congratulate them on winning the series... Then sit back and watch their team implode....again.
It's great fun.

That's why I hate this series so much. When the Sox win I hear "So what, oh, by the way...attendance, Wrigley, attendance."
When the Cubs win they talk so much shit. Although, since the Sox won the World Series most Cub fans I know haven't been quite as willing to talk shit anymore, but still.

By my meter they're back up to 95% shit-talking capacity.. Where they find the gall, I'll never know.
I mean, shit, they're the fucking Cubs??!?! You don't hear Royals fans talking a lot of shit.

When they get hit from a brick thats being held back by a net from their decrepit stadium, they wont be singin much more after that
I always say, i will take losing every game to the cubs to the rest of time as long as it means we get world series rings and that playin the cubs is like playin the royals, a series we should be winning against an inferior team
cub fans remind me of "bring it on" when the football guys are mocking the male cheerleaders and the one cheerleader replies
"DUDE! you just lost!"
In a year, start asking cub fans how the last century without a world series apperance has been

I was at the game yesterday, and whenever something big for the cubs happened, when there fucking fans started to talk, i just pointed to the left sleeve of my jersey with this patch on it and they would shut up quick.

But, seriously...Cub fans make Paris Hilton look like a Magna Cum Laude graduate from an Ivy League school.
2005 is the ultimate trump card. Let them be dummies...They won't get anything out of it like we did!

I'd take that deal in a heartbeat too. The funny thing is Cubs fans wouldn't want to lose to the Sox but win a World Series, it seems.

Isn't baseball supposed to be fun?
I had a Cub fan tell me today that he's content with a season that's around .500. I guess it's impossible for me to be content with a season where my team doesn't make the playoffs, but if this guy was representative of Cubs fans...then I'm really glad I'm not a Cub fan.

Exactly, that's why it's paramount to get trashed at the game. Watching baseball sober is for at home.
I have to admit..I had a few drink's when Derek Lee hit that grand slam Saturday...
D--n you Derek Lee for turning me into an alky Saturday !!

They are not very smart fans. At all.
The closer they are to .500, but dumber they seem to be ..............

Barrett hits his Pop Up ...... I stood up and happy that this was a routine fly .....which then kept going and going, getting caught in that summer breeze for a HR. This girl and her bf, was pretty annoying the whole game, she would scream/squeal after each cub hit, and was wearing one of those foam "claw" things. She would wave it at me, and gyrate her hips and do that Squeal/Scream thing. She really took it up a notch on Barretts 350 foot PopUp that went into the seats. She squeals to me that Soriano is "great" ..... "Sooooo Reeee Yahhhh Noooooo!!! Woooooooo!".
I told her thats not who hit the homer.
The crowd sits down and she leans over to the bf and asks what was the name of the Cubs' catcher who just hit that home-run.
Priceless.
