"Ryan Dempster (1-2) was unable to hold a four-run lead, allowing six hits and five runs while only recording one out in the ninth. Scott Eyre came on in relief and gave up two singles, including the game-winner, as the Cubs dropped three of four to the Mets, and have lost six of eight overall."

So which one is worse? This loss or the one on Monday where they gave up a walk-off walk?

The Northside Baseball game thread has got be good for a few laughs. I'm gonna go check it out. If it's as good as I imagine it is, I'll post a link here.
EDIT: Oh shit these guys are funny. Start reading around page 23 of this thread (http://www.northsidebaseball.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=40724).

fogpog.com is another site to get some pretty good reactions. It's not quite as big and popular as Northsidebaseball.

Cubs just need to get sold and get the hell out of Chicago. The worst professional sports team ever. They are a disgrace to the city of Chicago.
I was actually looking forward to going to my first game Saturday...now that's ruined also.
How long until football season?
I was at least looking forward to the Cubs teasing me and then fading in August. This is going to be a long summer.
OK, its finally time. Wood for closer.
Oh...wait..
The only gimmie game is when you are playing the Cubs.
Pathetic.
seriously, should i listen to the score or wgn radio? i want to hear lou quit.

wow..true entertainment there, realist.
I give those people credit for even being able to generate those intense emotions about that POS team. You would think that after a while it would be treated like just another day in bozo-land.

There are real, true suffering Cub fans out there not unlike us before 102605.
Indeed. I know several personally, but even they have run out of emotional gasoline following that team since 2003.

I think I'm one of the few that hates the fact we have to play these pukes. If we win we get a false sense of security, usually we stoop to their level anyways. I know MLB introduced inter league play to help save the game and all, but personally I hate it. We arent even in the same world as these losers, but like a wounded animal, they are dangerous, and all this hype builds them up IMHO. I'm hopin to just get 2 at least and get out of there w/out any injuries.

What a bunch of reactionary fucksticks on that forum. Did they forget that the Mets are the best offensive team in the NL? Did they forget that the Mets won the most games in baseball last year? Did they forget that the night previous, the Cubs scored 10 runs and won the game by nine?

Why don't we just play them when we play the rest of the central? And just once?

I think a lot of people who spend a lot of time posting on Cubs boards aren't so much Cubs fans as gallows humor fans. There really isn't another reason to put all the energy and wit into it, otherwise.

I left a comment. Scroll to the bottom.
I think I upset him. In one of his comments he mentions that the Cubs have 51 hall of famers compared to the Sox 33. I told him that according to the Cubs website, the number is only 37. He replied that his numbers were from the hall of fame website.
So I posted a link to the hall of fame website page that says 37 and told him to learn to count. He deleted my comment. :rolling:

I thought this was spot on:
Hey Jack I think it's cute how you mention the hot girls at Wrigley but forget about all the gay guys. Wrigley is LOADED with gays. FACT. Male Cubs fans makeout with each other everytime Jacque Jones strikes out against a lefty. FACT.
Poignant.
