View Full Version : Jerry Falwell: HE GONE!

Dead at 73. Once claimed God was a Republican, and that Jesus was the first American. Also supported racial segregation.
And of course, who can forget this classic:
AIDS is the wrath of a just God against homosexuals.
KKKlassy.

When I was growing up, 73 was a nice old age to die. Now it seems most people are living well into their 80s or 90s, and 73 seems so young. The advances in nutrition and modern medicine have been making some amazing leaps the past 30 years.
-----------------------------------
Christ our eternal King and God, You have destroyed death and the devil by Your Cross and have restored man to life by Your Resurrection; give rest, Lord, to the soul of Your servant Jerry Falwell who has fallen asleep, in Your Kingdom, where there is no pain, sorrow or suffering. In Your goodness and love for all men, pardon all the sins he has committed in thought word or deed, for there is no man or woman who lives and sins not, You only are without sin.
For You are the Resurrection, the Life, and Repose of Your servant Jerry Falwell, departed this life, O Christ our God; and to You do we send up glory with Your Eternal Father and Your All-holy, Good and Life-creating Spirit; both now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen

Wishing death on people we don't agree with sounds like a great idea! We should all start doing it. Can you imagine what a great world this would be if we all wished death on those who hold views we don't like?
Heck, if a bunch of people that have similar views on who they wished would die got together, they'd probably even find someone in the group that has good ideas on how to help the death of the people they don't agree with to happen sooner than later. Now that would be really neat.
What a glorious world this be if huge numbers of people that wished atheists and Muslims were all dead started hanging out together and someone in the group came up with some great ideas on how to make this wish that all atheists and Muslims die come true. Now imagine these ideas implemented. Mass slaughters of atheists and Muslims would be so neat.

If he really followed Jesus' teachings, he wouldn't have "hated" anybody.
IMO, Fawell and people like him believe what they want to believe and dig through the Bible to look for quotes that support their position. This is easy to do, because the Bible repeatedly contradicts itself. However, it requires them to ignore huge chunks of the Bible, especially the quotes from Jesus.
I just saw a headline that said something like: "Falwell died rich, but how rich was he?" If he really followed Jesus' teachings, he wouldn't have died rich.

Does this mean the vatican and all those involved with them would end up burning in hell? Tech, the vatican is a country\nation and is the richest nation in the world, so by those "teachings" should every iota of the church money go to whatever humanitarian cause even tho they already give alot? Falwell gave alot to political contributions and groups that supported "morality"
And you can interpret any text you wish to how you desire, look at the WBC and how they can say the bible says no one will be saved and that God doesnt love everyone

When it comes to wishing death on someone, I think it should only be done for the most evil of the evil. You brought up Hitler, Captain Godwin, so I ask you...how many divisions has Falwell? Really, he is more detestable than evil.
I guess my point is don't waste your death wishes on small fry. Is the world a better place without him? Frankly, yes. But I certainly didn't sit around wishing for it, for that would be cruel, and I'm certainly nowhere as satisfied by his death as I'm sure I will be by, say, Castro's, or as I was by seeing Nicolae Ceauşescu run around that courtyard before he got a bullet in the brain.

Hey, I agree man. I never wished death upon him. To me, he was just a shepherd of the brainless. There are plenty more. Would the man be dangerous if he was the head of a nation? Probably. Hey, I agree man. I never wished death upon him. To me, he was just a shepherd of the brainless. There are plenty more. Would the man be dangerous if he was the head of a nation? Probably. But he was small potatoes and mattered to no one except sheep at the end of his life. His death alters the world about as much as mine would.
Wasnt for him, larry flynt mighta lost alot of publicity and you are wrong, there are alot of believers in falwell

I prefer to ignore the stupid.
So ignore yourself
Everyone is stupid in their own way. I freely admit my ignorance so that i might better myself and decrease it

Does this mean the vatican and all those involved with them would end up burning in hell?
No, just the Jesuits and some of the Popes. :D
Most Catholic religious take a vow of poverty.
should every iota of the church money go to whatever humanitarian cause
Yes. I've been to the Vatican multiple times. It's absolutely amazing, and one of my favorite places, but the 1st thought that always enters my mind is: "They should could feed a lot of starving folks if they sold all of this marble stuff."

Its all how you wanna judge people, i mean, who are we to say someone is better or not. Was princess Di not a good person because she lived and died as a rich princess despite all she did to help the world?
A joke
Mother Teresa arrives in heaven and sees Princess Di, she goes to st peter and goes "Ive lived all my life in poverty and given myself to God and helped the poor, why does princess Di have a bigger halo than me?!" Peter says "Thats not a halo thats a steering wheel"

Also, some give him a pass because of the 'Reverend' in front of his name.

Too soon. For shame Stockdale.
