The Royals are expected to place Ross Gload on the disabled list Monday with a sore quadriceps muscle.

According to the Kansas City Star, Angel Berroa will be recalled from Triple-A to take his place on the roster after hitting .303 in 30 games following his demotion. Ryan Shealy remains sidelined, but could come off the DL as soon as Wednesday and would likely regain his starting spot with Gload out. Mike Sweeney and Alex Gordon will split first base duties until then.

Poor Ross.... can't catch a break.

Maybe if he was better at baseball, he'd catch a break. I mean, not injury-wise, but just generally.

Wait, he's going on the DL and out at least 2 weeks because his thigh is sore? Not torn, etc. but rather sore?!?
