R.I.P. Clem. A great pitcher, especially in clutch situations. I really get sad when I hear that one of the old Brooklyn Dodgers dies.
I read Peter Golenbock's book "Bums" back in the 1980's after seeing the documentary The Boys of Summer. I've been a fan of the old Brooklyn Dodgers ever since.
I felt a strong kinship to the Brooklyn fans, especially after they lost their team to the sunny climes of Southern California.
When the Sox were threatening to move to Fla in the late 80's I really understood what the Brooklyn Dodger fans went through.
Golenbock's book really delved in to the Dodgers move to L.A. and how that move really affected the borough of Brooklyn.
I've always said that if I had a baseball time machine, I would love to travel back in time and see the old Brooklyn Dodgers play at Ebbets Field for one summer in the 1950's.
R.I.P. Clem, you played on one of the all time greatest teams in baseball history.
