Peter Gammons is a fuck-tard. Some gems from him.
"He was in the majors largely because of his make-up, not his stuff."
"The Cardinals are not a good team, and they know it. Something like this just adds to what they already know."

Just saw the picture of his 07' Explorer! Yikes not much left. They said he hit the back of a flatbed tow truck that had pulled over to tow a car on the side of the road. By the looks of the wreckage, it appears that his SUV went under the flat bed from winshield on down, and from base of windshield up went over the bed. I'm sure he must of been decappitated.

Zoso, I cant find the picture, but I'm sure channel 7 news will replay it at 10:00, I just checked their site but they dont have the picture up. It looked like someone peeled the roof off like a sardine can.

No decapitation, there is no blood. He may have broken his neck, otherwise he might not have been declared dead at the accident scene. Also, some of the damage may have been done when they were getting his body out of the truck.
Anyway, what a horrible accident. Two Cards players in five years. :(

They said he died instantly. They do fire hose those wrecks down usually at the scene, so blood isnt visible all the time afterwards.:( At anyrate, far to young to check out.:(

Huh? No fire, no hose. The ground would be washed down if there are fluids from the car, other than gas or oil.
A broken neck will kill you instantly, that's why I said that.

Sure a neck will kill ya instantly to, I'm just lookin at the way that split the car, and dont see how ya couldnt be split open as well. Theres always fluid leakin in a wreck like that, so they hose, and if they do have to hose they usually hose the mess off the wreck to. Who knows, just seems like way to wicked a wreck not to see any blood is all I'm sayin', so i'm suspecting they cleaned it up a bit.

Absolutely not. Acutally, that's evidence. No FD is the world is going to hose off blood from INSIDE a car.
Like I said, some of that damage was done when they cut his body out. A lot of times when you see wrecks on the news the carnage is unbelievable. In all actuality, most of that damage is done by the "jaws of life".

I dod not think of the ole jaws O life there LuvSox in considering the wreck damage. Dont they take all their pictures etc. then hose it down?? That's what I thought at least. I dunno, I always see them hosin down a wreck, that's not on fire, and figured that's why they did it. Where do the wrecks go??

I just had to have my car towed home last Sunday and on the way home the tow truck driver was telling me about this guy that slammed into the back of the tow truck going down the tollway. Turns out the guy had fallen asleep! He was doing about 90 when he hit. I think he said the dude actually managed to survive though.
Makes me wonder if that's what happened here.

His truck is at an impound yard, or at the police station. I don't know how they do it in MO.
Look at the drivers seat, it's pristine, not a stain on it. If the cops take pics, they take them before the car is towed away from the scene. That is not an evidence photo. They will shut down an interstate for hours if they have to.
Judging by your typing, you may be as drunk as I am. :D

So now that he allegedly had a few drinks how does everyone feel about how this is being handled?

I don't know. I kind of figured once I heard he crashed into the tow truck that he was probably drunk. I guess the media will focus on why he had been drinking lately, causing him to be late to a game or two. However, you look at it, it's still sad.

regardless of whether or not we want to vilify the guy, it doesn't change the fact that he is dead.
Mokwa said Hancock was speaking with a female acquaintance about baseball and baseball tickets and that the conversation ended abruptly, apparently when the accident occurred. A police report said Hancock told the female acquaintance he was on his way to another bar, and that he planned to meet her there.
Imagine being the girl on the other end of that phone call... :(

The way I see things it's good that only he's dead. If he was drunk some random innocent could've died.
That would've been a real tragedy

and QFT. Certainly it's sad for his family, friends, and the Cardinals, but drunk driving is pretty despicable.

An accident reconstruction team determined Hancock was traveling 68 mph in a 55 mph zone when his SUV struck the back of a flatbed tow truck stopped in a driving lane. Mokwa said there was no evidence Hancock tried to stop. He did swerve, but too late to avoid the collision.
Graham said Hancock had severe chest injuries as well as the fatal head injuries.
Damn, that must have been a BRUTAL accident scene.

LaRussa is a complete dope. It seems at some point he decided everything going on in St. Louis should be run by him first.
