Anyone know if Jimbo's will still be open by Opening Day? Last I heard was they got their license and lease extended past 10/31/06 - not sure how long that extension was for. Any update would be greatly appreciated.

Jimbos will definitely be OPEN on Opening Day. He is battling to the bitter end ............ and with all the legal wrangling and court extensions, he will likely be open thru the season at the least.

I really think Bridgeport needs a chain style watering hole. These mom and pop places are great, and help define Bridgeport as a great neighborhood, but I have paying 6 bucks for a can of beer in a dive bar.

Pffft...don't be a cheapskate. We know you can afford it?yeah but if I'm gonna pay 6 bucks for a can of beer, I'd like more comfortable surroundings. Plus the dive bars around the park dont really offer good food either. Dives, for me, are for 2 dollar beer night.

Puffer's (or whatever it's called now) has reasonable prices. No food though.
They also have a damn great beer selection. When we go we usually order a bunch of pizzas from a local pizza making house.

I like dive bars or "shitholes". I don't like paying $6 for a beer, but I figure that I don't go there very often and it is karma for all the cheap ass beer prices in Milwaukee. The yuppies and brokebacks can have their chain restaurants and trendy bars with mudslides and chocolate martinis.

I thought they were $4. Either way, Jimbo's blows goats.

$4 for a can of beer... and an annoying waitress who tells you her life story even though you tell her "I don't care" repeatedly.

yes, it is $4 for a can of beer on gameday. But not any different from all those dumps 8miles north. Same exact thing. Its called business. But I'd rather have Jimbos close by than no bar at all.

I like dive bars, too, but a place like Jimbo's is just crap. There are plenty of better dive bars to frequent, and I can usually get my beer out of something other than a can there.

The difference is that the wrigley bars are crawling with hot ass and jimbo's is full of troglodytes, not to mention there are plenty of other places to get a drink before and/or after a game within walking distance of the ballpark.
SEEING THAT MY IDEAL ARE NOT AS GOOD AS I THOUGHT !!!! HOW ABOUT JUST PUTTING THE CENTER FIELD SHOWERS BACK ???? THAT WILL SHUT ME UP FOR A WHILE !!!!!! THOSE WHERE COOL WHEN I WAS A KID AND DOES ANY BODY KNOW WHY THEY FACED THE STADIUM FACING THE PROJECTS ???? I CANT SLEEP TILL SOMBODY TELLS ME !

I'm gonna say something I would get banned for at the other site. Going to a Sox game would be even more awesome if the neighborhood was more like Wrigleyville in terms of the pre and post game scene.

The thing is I see droves of hot women at the Cell whenever I go in the summer. Where are they going after the game? Back to Orland?   They most definately don't go to any damn bar in Bridgeport. Oh yeah, that's because there aren't any.

Tinley actually...
But yes, everybody scatters and it's lame because I don't go to games to hit on fly honeys, but I could maybe go for some of that afterwards?? The parking lot kinda works, but not really...

There should be something to do after the game other than try to hit on some hottie on the walk back to your car. Or they should've just built the damn park in Addison.
I stopped at Schallers once last season after a game and that was seriously the ONLY time I've been near the park after a game save for the post game parking lot beer.

I found a better shot of Destro, but passed when I found this pic of Wild Bill, my favorite Joe.
