Just bought it this weekend. Went franchise with the Palehose and am currently a sweet 0-4. God I suck.

The game is one of the best looking games I've ever seen. I think the pitching is awesome. Catchers call the games, the pitch movement is realistic and makes it challenging.

My problem is with the fielding right now. It seems as though Iguchi and Uribe don't share the same passion for turning double plays as I do.

And it would also be great if I could hit a long ball more than two inches over the fence so I don't get robbed every damn time. 4 times in 4 games!!!!

Overall, I'll give the game an A- at this point.

I bought it when it came out for PS2, and it's fucking amazing. It took me a little while to figure out the baserunning/stealing parts, but I really like the swing stick thing they got in there. I think I need to make it harder, I beat the Indians 21-4 last night...The pitching is pretty solid, too, seeing how I was able to finagle a complete game shutout out of Gavin Floyd the other day.

I give it a 9.5/10 right now.

Hitting is pretty hard on PS3 if you use the sixaxis mode. You have to move your controller forward to swing the bat. Right now I believe I'm either 6-10 or 6-11 but I'm about to take another from KC.

I won my first game last night against the tribe.. WOOT!

Sox spanked Paul Byrd around for 7 runs before he was pulled in the second inning. We continued to bitch slap every pitcher in their pen on our way to 15 runs!!
Gavin Floyd was completely locked in, pitching a full 9, striking out 13, while giving up a mere 4 hits on his way to W #1

Jim Thome went deep twice while Paulie went an impressive 5 for 5.

It is pretty small, but it changes depending on how you play with him. You can build up his confidence by getting hits and doing well with your team. If you start sucking, it gets much harder as all their "batter's eyes" get a lot smaller.

And they really seem to be going after Paulie who has been making great contact, but seems to run into Spiderman the Outfielder every goddam at bat...

My controller almost went through the freakin screen as I was down by two in the late innings and got a meatball served to me that I jumped on... only to have the GREAT AMAZING JUMPING CLIMBING HUNTER scale the wall in left center after being shifted to right center to rob homer #3 of the game~~~:mad:

When you're playing in the outfield, do you know how to scale the wall? I have yet to figure this out... every time I try JD or whoever ends up diving headfirst into the wall and BA actually got injured by me doing this once, he had to be put on the 60 day DL. :(

ha... that happened to me too w/ pods... no DL though...

It will say "Wall Climb", but if you're not getting the red arrow and can still see the blue circle thing..it's not going out.. so your duder will dive and not climb the wall... So basically, if there's no red arrow..don't do anything...

Contreras was out for 9 days w/ a concussion after taking a ball off the dome.. He just came back for his first start and sucked a hog.

Right now, my other mission seems to be to run myself out of as many innings as possible...:mad:

I put the AI outfielder speed slider down to 20. They especially love robbing Paulie, since he can never hit a ball more than 6 inches over the fence. :mad:
I still got robbed once by Milton farkin' Bradley, but it's gotten slightly better than the 4-rob job from the other night.

Anyway, after a slow 0-4 start the Sox have gone on quite the tear, winning 9 of their last 11 and are now tied w/ Detroit for first place. Gavin Floyd is 3-0 with a stunning 0.00 ERA. BA sucks the balls of men going 0-5 against the A's.
Meanwhile, our friends that dwell up north are also dwelling in the cellar in the NL Comedy Central. To the dismay of the local media they are also losing in the most critical aspect of baseball... Attendance. After lowering prices to a CHEAP $24.00 (CHEAP!!). Attendance at USCF has soared to the highest hights, putting us in 5th place overall in MLB attendance. ($$$)

I've learned how to hit the long ball pretty well, but strangely, the only person on my team who ever hits it is Konerko. Right now, in mid May in my season, Konerko is sitting at 35 homers. :D

I eventually got the "barry bonds" of the game(jon dowd) in the end of his career, a real short ducksnort to right was falling and an amazing dive saved that perfect game.
