There's a new show on the Food Network called Bizzare Foods. Pretty cool. This big bald dude (american) goes to far out corners and eats crazy stuff. I like stuff like that. He was in the Philippines on yesterday's show and that made for some eye watering scenes.
He was walking on the beach and the walked up to a couple of dudes hacking up a rotting log and there were some huge ass crazy worms on the inside. The natives were taking them live and dipping them in some oil and just scarfing them down.
In Manila the "main snack" is a fertilized duck egg that has a partially developed embryo inside. :omg:
Yum city!

I love watching travel shows and stuff like that.

Kind of interesting some of the grubs and insects are up to 80% protein! Someone should tell Mike Squires to ditch the Mega Fuel Powder!

Think I'll stick to the powder and egg whites thank you very much.
Pickled Eggs still scare me to this day.

When I was a kid I put ketchup on tacos. But then I starting getting fur where there was no fur before and starting noticing other rabbits.
For a 3 year period when I was a young'un I'd rip the cheese off and coat the crust part with black pepper. Then I'd put the cheese back on.
Hmm.. maybe that's why my stomach is all fucked up

I could go for some lamb curry, palak paneer, masala dosas and some dal.
I'll probably just eat some kashi.

...bizarre to you Colonial types, at any rate.
;)
Marmite (http://www.marmite.co.uk/).
Bovril (http://www.unilever.co.uk/ourbrands/foods/bovril.asp).
British flavours (http://walkers.corpex.com/CR15p5/products.asp?snacktypeid=26) of 'chips'. Especially these (http://walkers.corpex.com/CR15p5/packinfo.asp?snacktypeid=33&flavourid=34).
Or, you could check out this lot (http://www.pimpthatsnack.com/).

Couldn't the whole English cuisine be classified as 'bizarre'??

That's not weird, Herr's Snacks of Nottingham, Pennsylvania makes a Worcestershire Sauce chip/crisp, I get them on occasion.

Marmite is pure ass taste, had it in Australia at a hostel. Some were scarfing it down.
I got a category, Stupid food.
I had a friend who put mayo on his corn, wtf?
Another put ranch on pizza...?
What's up with that crap?
Another thing, is it weird to put ketchup on a brat w/ sauerkraut?
They think I am weird out here.
Okay, you don't have to comment on that....

Craziest food- Rocky Mtn Oysters.
Seriously. Why?
I'm thinking it has no nutritional value and it can't taste good. So again, why?
I think it's as close as you can come to beastiality w/o actually performing it.

Question:
did you mean to say that "Marmite is pure-ass taste" (a compliment), or that "Marmite is pure ass-taste" (not so hot).
I the latter, I submit the following to you:
it is a by-product of the making of beer. Bass beer.
How can it not rule?

Yes - but ONLY if you can call it 'cuisine' with a straight face.
As others have already noted, in England, we Kill It, Boil It, Eat It.
In Scotland, they Kill It, Deep-Fry It, Eat It.
In Scotland you can get a deep-fried three-course meal at many local chip shops:
'Starter' - Deep-fried pineapple ring (aka 'Pineapple Fritter');
'Main Course' - Deep-fried Pizza/Calzone;
'Dessert' - Deep-fried Mars Bar.
Now, can anyone in the class guess which European country has the highest incidence of coronary heart disease..?

A main course in Scottland is a calzone?
SoxEd,
Since you live up by the land of the Scots, could you describe to me what Haggis actually is?
Sincerely,
A confused minuteman

Marmite is actually taint mined from queen herself.
So, no, it is not good.
Actually it is good for you, but that's another story and mainly for vegans....

How about tripe soup anyone?
I think it's called Menudo (not of Ricky Martin fame).
It's supposed to be THE hangover cure for Latinos...
