Yoda called me a little while ago to tell me that while he was watching the Cubs game today he heard the announcers say, "Welcome to the 7th game of the Cubs championship season!"

:jagoff:

He would have posted this, but is not going to be online for a while, so I figured I'd do it just to get Hangar all riled up.

I've heard Chris Singleton say the exact same thing a couple of times this year.

I still wanna see the shocked look on the (whoever it is) new owners face when they get the check for this "not quite championship material" season.

"Excuse me, who ordered the 45 bottles of Dom back in April???? Hellloooooo, I'm not paying for this!!!!!! We didnt even cover the Over 82.5 wins wager you bafoons!!!!"

Yeah... that's right, it wasn't Yoda who called me, it was actually just nothing.

Yeah I've heard him say it too. Not a fan. It's so Cub-like.

Sox fans are too smart, you can't say that shit to us. Cub fans, on the other hand, eat shit like that up.

Don't listen to that guy

Really? I don't listen to the radio much. Do they say it so matter-of-factly like Casper the Ghost did?

I am doubting your whole story.

At the end of the "lead-off man" Len kasper said "when we return game 7 of the championship season. The cubs are 3-3 at this point"

I mostly doubted the part where you called her.

apparently, the regular season is actually called the champoionship season. they even use the term on the rain check on the back of tickets - check it

Yep. It's ripped directly from the rule book:

(3) The game has not become a regulation game (4 1/2 innings with the home team ahead, or 5 innings with the visiting club ahead or tied).
(4) Any regulation game tied at the point play is stopped because of weather, curfew or other reason.
(5) If a game is suspended before it becomes a regulation game, and is continued prior to another regularly scheduled game, the regularly scheduled game will be limited to seven innings.
(6) If a game is suspended after it is a regulation game, and is continued prior to another regularly scheduled game, the regularly scheduled game will be a nine inning game.

EXCEPTION: The above sections (3), (4), (5) & (6) will not apply to the last scheduled game between the two teams during the championship season, or League Playoffs. Any suspended game not completed prior to the last scheduled game between the two teams during the championship season, will become a called game.
