Since we can't beat Cytana, should we arrange to have him beaten? Ala Nancy Kerrigan only this time we take out his arm.
Although I have a feeling we could cut off his left arm and he would come out and pitch a no hitter with his right against us just to make us even more miserable

i think that would probably be the most likely way we can beat him.
It's not just us who can't hit him. There's a reason he's a Cy Young winner, and it's not because he's Chris Carpenter and plays in a league devoid of good pitching.

Santana is the best pitcher in baseball. I feel like if there were a way to read him, he wouldn't consistently put up sub 3.00 ERA's

we cant beat him. Just put the b lineup out there and play for 2 out of 3

I was kidding. The only way to beat him, and believe me, there arent many ways to beat him, is to get his pitch count up. You have to immediately see which of his pitches are being thrown for strikes ..... and just wait for his fastball. Todays game shows there is a way to beat the guy, but you have to do it early ........

*sigh* See the gamethread. You don't beat a guy by getting one hit.
I don't remember ever seeing you talk about baseball on here. Weird. :omg:
Also, sorry Hangar, Chips is kind of right. Santana isn't exactly beatable right now. Danks played a fuckin' great game and we couldn't hack it against Santana.

The only thing you can do is sit on the fastball.
Easier said than done.

sure he's the best pitcher, career-wise, but at this point in their respective careers, Santana is probably the best pitcher in baseball.
Oswalt or Halladay are probably the only others who come close

First pitch hacking. See if you can put an inning together before he adjusts and then take your chances with your own starter doing his part.
They have to think of something I mean as much as we see this guy, fuck. Baltimore can score 4 off of him. I blame Walker.
He wasn't pitching well at all v. Baltimore....He was leaving his changeup up. That's why they were able to hit him. If he's spotting his changeup he's almost unhittable.

I think we should have Bobbie whack him. He's gonna go down for this drummer hit anyways, so might as well go down in flames of glory. Then put him in the Ocean w/ Pussy.

The only way to beat Santana is for Santana to beat himself.

At this point, I'd take Santana over Clemens in a heartbeat. Actually I'd take him over anybody, he's the best.

I'm not sure if he would ever lose a game, or have an ERA over 1.50 if he were pitching in the NL.
